Thanks for your input.
I ordered a CubieTruck, already have most of the support equipment and AIS.
I also ordered a Navico Broadband RADAR that I hope to use with this platform.

You have both expressed entrepreneurial aspirations in regards to this project.
I'm just a user, but am interested in what you are thinking of doing. Care to share your plans ?

I don't have any firm plans.

I think it would be useful to a certain subset of users to offer an all-in-one product to get past the initial setup. Strong support is necessary in that case, and I'm not sure how well that part would scale.
