Re: squiddio plugin

Mauro

Thank you for the many improvements to your plugin, and for your work to bring the github Release Tab to your OP repository! It is much better this way.

Also Jon Gough and Alec Leamas deserve big credits for the option to use OD textpoints, and heavy behind the scene work to improve plugin delivery and deployment.

Best Regards.

Rick

Re: squiddio plugin

Look what I missed for a year now. Mauro and the Signal K guys have been busy.

SignalK Server with client Oauth Authentication

"An experimental implementation of a Signal K server using OAuth2 Authentication through sQuidd.io. It allows you to control access to your Signalk server without the need to manage user credentials, passwords, certificates etc. locally. It also provides the server with access to a number of sQuidd.io authenticated APIs for the sharing and retrieval of vessel GPS position, NMEA status updates and general nautical information (see below)."

The "skinny" on how SignalK Oauth works
Kicking the tires with a live SignalK Oauth server on sQuidd.io

If you are going to learn more about this look at the Readme, top note:

IMPORTANT: there has been a change in the SignalK API url construct used by sQuidd.io. /api/v1 is no longer supported. Install the latest version of signalk-oauth-server as previous ones will not work!

Re: squiddio plugin

Hello RGleason,

In the latest version of OpenCPN, looking at the main context menu, we have this screenshot of the French version.

There are still, and always, 5 items in English, concerning SQuiddio.

Four of these items are in the Crowdin language file. But, their translations don't work.

The last one, the one about satellites, is not in the crowdin. It must be added to it.

Would it be possible to make the necessary corrections?

Gilletarom.

Re: squiddio plugin

Gilletarom,
Help me out here a little. I have an account on crowdin and have done this once or twice, but I have forgotten.
What is the file needed to upload? Do I have to generate it somehow?
If you don't know the answer, I will find out from Hakan.
I'd like to know how to do this as there are a number of others too.

Thanks
Rick

PS Mauro added new features, thus the additional items.

1 °
To my knowledge, Hakan or Jon, apart from Dave, are able to create or replace a file in Crowdin.

2 ° It happens that:
- Some items are missing from a Crowdin file. The plugin developer must add them.
- Some items are present in the Crowdin file of a plugin, and are translated by a translator. But these items cannot be used by OpenCPN or by the plugin. Again, it's up to the developer to see what's at stake.

Gilletarom.

Re: squiddio plugin

In Dark Mode, Squiddio could use some help in the preference screen...

Mac OSX Catalina, latest RC of O5.1.7 and all versions (so far) of Squiddio.

Re: squiddio plugin

Merci d'avance.

Re: squiddio plugin

Gillatarom,

Hakan made an intermediary update with your fr language files. I have not incremented the version number, it is in Cloudsmith opencpn-squiddio-beta
https://cloudsmith.io/~opencpn/repos....3.8.0*tarball

Pick the right tarball

Re: squiddio plugin

Whoops, this is using frontend2 1.0124, it needs to be updated to 1.0.125 to support languages. I can do that tonight.

Re: squiddio plugin

Hello RGleason,
Today, great laundry in the PC ... I put in the trash all versions of OpenCPN installed in parallel, one after the other. Then CCleaner ...

And I installed the latest version of daily Dave's cloud (OpenCPN 5.1.712+392640c).

Then I installed the version of sQuiddio that you created. Correct operation. But in English. Despite an attempt to file ".mo", nothing to do.

Note by the way, that I made some transformations in the translations of the items on Crowdin.

I wait quietly, your next version.

Re: squiddio plugin

Gillatarom, you are patient! I believe that Dave found that squiddio was missing a necessary line in squiddio_pi.cpp. That has compiled, do you want to try by importing a plugin tarball? ...just so we can test and get this right?

If so, the location in Cloudsmith is here ... opps, I see Dave is working on it now...
https://github.com/rgleason/squiddio...b36b2c0040cde2

and it does not appear to be working yet. I tried it an squiddio stays englishl Sorry.

We are getting closer and someone will advise when it is working.
