Have you checked out the
openecho project?
Pretty much turning old depth sounders into capable sonars and
fish finders!
And host a wide range of older depth finders you got to check with them on discord it still relatively new but if you can get data out the sonar this could
work.
They got an old 150khz sounder to show pretty high-res scan which could be interesting for some sailors that still have that old analog klunky box.
From what i've seen it doesn't fully integrate with openCPN you will need a second
monitor and run their sonar viewer to get the beautiful sonar waterfall-view. The
software also has a simple webserver sending
nmea depth over udp so you can still get depth data on openCPN if you decide to rock a
single.
