Solution for small menus with 4k monitor

When I bought a 4k monitor, I discovered that the menu fonts were 1/4 the size when viewed on my old HD monitor, very hard to read, very tiny. The Win10 scaling is set at 150% but the fonts remained small in OpenCPN. I found the solution on the web. You retain all the pixels of a 4k display for the charts but the menus are now readable. The steps are:

1. Find the exe file for OpenCPN in the Programs folder (or the shortcut icon for OpenCPN on your home screen)
2. Right-click on the icon
3. Click Properties
4. Click Compatibility tab
5. Click "Change high DPI settings"
5. Check the box ”Override high DPI scaling behavior...”,
6. At box under, open it and check System in the pull-down menu
7: Then click on OK and Apply
Then start the app and the menus will be normal size.

Re: Solution for small menus with 4k monitor

I've been meaning to ask, is there any way to make the chart bar thicker? I.e. increase its height?

It's quite hard to actuate it when using one's fingers on a 10" or 12" tablet.
