Software to Introduce Hypertext Links in OpenCPN Waypoints

I believe hypertext links in OpenCPN is a promising feature to create Poi’s (Places of Interest) beside waypoints.

I just finished a simple software "MarinePoi" (beta version, for Windows) for creating / modifying easily “gpx” files containing Poi’s which may be imported in OpenCPN and easily shared with friends The question of the “&” (a bug in OpenCPN 2.5 links) was difficult to overcome , but now it works …

The translation of MarinePoi from French to English is crude (sorry !), but you can edit the “languageEN.txt” file.

An example of what can be done with this program: 5 POI on the Bodrum peninsula in Turkey.


You can read the POI with OpenCPN:
Copy and paste '' Bodrum_peninsula.gpx ''in a directory


OpenCPN > Route Manager and Data Import/Export > open file ‘’ Bodrum_peninsula.gpx ‘’


Now a line "Additional information" will appear in the right click menu when clicking a waypoint


And click a link…

Robert i get a type mismatch error on installation clicking retry just brings up the error again I am running on XP SP3 I attacc log file

I cannot reproduce this error ...

It seems all DLLs were installed on your PC. May be the sofware will run properly without installation : download http://www.plaisance-pratique.com/IM...eMarinePoi.zip and unzip the files in the "MarinePoi" folder in the "program files" and try to run it ?

I found the compiler error: the unzipped file "setup.lst" should be changed:

[IconGroups]
GROUP0 = MarinePoi
PrivateGroup0 = 0 ("Faux" is French, the correct value is "0" or "False" in your case)
Parent0 = $ (Programs)

You can fix by hand the file "setup.lst"

I'll fix the package.

Try Finike… ‘especially’
It's much easier to create with MarinePoi

Great utility

is there a way to stop waypoints icons being overwritten in an existing gpx My gpx inserts notices to mariners with the correct nav object icon which i would like to keep Your app applies the anchor icon to all waypoints

The method used in my #8 example above makes use of the 'Additional information' feature accessed through OCPN's Route Manager. I am sure the linux version of OCPN also has this option?
