Did tracker register you? It shouldn't take longer than 5 min to send back an email.

Glad you like the picture!
Negative on the flyspray thing: I tried twice. Maybe it thinks I am a robot. Many robots do. But I am nearly certain I am not.
I will give the sprythy another try now. Maybe it is just a glitch. Beep beeeeep. ;-)
Cheers,
b.

Re: Sending waypoints/routes over IP
Opencpn WP send/recieve with the chartplotter is a challenge.
Maybe we should record some of this in the user manual?

It is not a challenge.
OpenCPN neither sends nor receives WPTs via the net interface.
It does send WPTs via the serial interface. It does not receive WPTs over the same interface (or else: it receives them but does not utilise them).
Not sure you must talk in the manual about functionality not present. This would make any manual very very long.
Hard luck with flyspray tried again but no success. I may have been wrong about that robot problem.

Re: Sending waypoints/routes over IP
B. Can you write it up & post here and I will make sure it gets into tracker? I am an admin for tracker and will try to check the registration processes but don't think I have access. Very sorry for the troubles.

Yes.
I will send you a pm over my email so that you can see what email address I used for registration therein.
Let me know what works best, I will play along. Have time now to think and formulate my ideas into words.

Re: Sending waypoints/routes over IP
After more investigation I am kinda cursing I didn't get a Vesper XB-8000 for my AIS transponder, as it translates RMB and WPL sentences as well as being a wifi gateway. I could have just sent IP data there using the workarounds above and I think it would have worked. As well as giving me an anchor alarm that doesn't use my phone gps, which is bad.
Instead I have an AIT2000 and the GoFree Wifi, neither of which does translation. And I can't get the NSS8 to accept the WP/route data using the above instructions, despite the fact it says it does over nmea183.

It does, BUT at the same time it fails to show a WPL sentence on the list of accepted/incoming NMEA183 sentences.
You want your Simrad dealer to tell you how this is done.
Like Raymarine and (now) Garmin, they are not very clear with explaining their interconnectability, for a good financial reason.
Every time a company moves on from niche to mainstream, they immediately start pushing us to purchase more of their equipment (by e.g. giving unclear, vague or wrong interconnectability info). Or else, as soon as a company grows big enough, there will be enough fools there within and they all end up writing instruction manuals and working in the client support department.
Too bad.
I hope you will find a way. And, if you do, PLS remember to post here how it actually gets done on Simrad NSS series.
Happy New Year! Well, almost ;-)

User Corner: Sending waypoints/routes over IP
Guys,
I've written something based on Sending waypoints and routes over IP from this thread. It is in a new User Corner where Registered Users can edit.
I am afraid it needs some work to make the points clear:
https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...pt-rte-over-ip
This page is also connected to the new User Gallery page which can be used to post screenshots.
All Registered Users can now add their own pages and write articles.

Well done!
And now. Can we ask OpenCPN developers to modify future versions of the software so that a net (IP) port can be indicated directly in the 'send wpt/rte to" dialog?
Can you use your access to the development tracking interface to suggest the modification for future releases?

Re: Sending waypoints/routes over IP
Barnakiel,
Yes, I can add the request to the tracker, no problem.
Would you mind giving me a good title and describing it accurately enough so the developers will understand?
Also, I have tried to organize the process and results, in the reference page, but I think it would be helpful if you would review and be critic.
Thank you! R.

OK.
I will refresh my memory of this challenge today and post again here with my suggestion.

Re: Sending waypoints/routes over IP
I believe this Feature Request could sound like this:
"...
OpenCPN Feature Request
The request: Please enable sending waypoints and routes to Net type DataPorts from Route and Mark Manager and from context menu.
The explanation: In the present situation sending waypoints and routes is only enabled to Serial DataPorts. However, it has been found that waypoints are forwarded to Net type DataPorts when a WPL sentence is received via a Serial DataPort specified in the Connections menu.
..."
Standing by.
Very best regards,
barnakiel
