Seatalk1

Probably a silly question but I need clarification as I'm quite the noob with this.

I am putting together an Rpi based OCPN and am not sure about the seatalk1 interface to the Pi. I plan to connect using RS422 to USB adapter. My question is do I need an individual adapter for each sensor input, or can I parallel multiple sensors on 1 adaptor? Sensors being Log, Depth and Wind.

Alternatively would I be better off using a mux like the Nmea3WIFI unit or seayak?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Seatalk1

Quark has a Seatalk 1 multiplexor otherwise you will need a Raymarine E85001

Actisense has a good explanation here.

Re: Seatalk1

Better than the yakker and yakbiz, there is the Nmea4Wifi (I tested both).
Wifi multiplexer, receives Seatalk1 and retransmits it in nmea0183, etc., for a ridiculous price.

Moreover, the designer - Luis - is very responsive and the forum brings a lot of answers.
