Saving routes and removing from screen?

Maybe I do not find it, but is it possible to save a route and remove it from the screen, and later open it again?
It seems like when removing from screen, the route is removed from route library?

And if you just toggle the visibility (the "eye" symbol in the route manager)?

You can also export a route and re-import it later.
Just have a look at the manual.
