Route VMG/ETA damping?

Is it possible to slow down (damp) the rate of change in VMG and therefore the TTG and ETA displayed in the Route dialogue?
I know it is possible to damp the SOG and HDG in the dashboard display (I use a damping factor of 20).
The route VMG data fluctuates wildly, making ETA predictions very difficult to put much faith in.
Thank you
Tim
