The Route Manager and Gpx Data - Tracks. In Properties why does point 001 usually show a huge distance and often a consequential huge speed?
Not of vital importance but there must be a good reason..?

The distance to point 1 is measured from the current position of your boat. Use the rignt click menu to move he boat closer and the distance will be less.
