route in format *.rtm

Good afternoon. I have several routes in files with *.rtm extension, could someone help me to export them to *.gpx or *.txt files.

I do not know that format, but you could have a look at GPSBabel.

Re: route in format *.rtm

Can you view the route information with anything - such as a text editor?
If you change the extension to .txt can you then view it?

Re: route in format *.rtm

Clearly the file is not a text file. I believe it can be opened with the particular LabVIEW application that creates it. If you can use such an application to extract the route information as text, you could create routes in OpenCPN. Otherwise I see no way of doing so.

Re: route in format *.rtm

An ECDIS shall be able to export a route in the standard RTZ format. There is a plug-in to digest that data format into OpenCPN.
ECDIS standard IEC 61174:2015 defines it.

Re: route in format *.rtm

It seem to me to be a Transas type file. Use RTZ for converting.

Re: route in format *.rtm

.rtm files are used internally by a JRC ECDIS. They are in a proprietary format. The only way of using the files would be to read them with a JRC ECDIS and then export as .csv.

Latest software versions from JRC may allow export as RTZ but .csv would be more convenient for conversion to GPX.

Re: route in format *.rtm

Thanks Mike, I though so to, but could not imagine that today they are still in such a system. Today, you must be able to tansmit your route from wharf to wharf if the authority of a country request it. So, it as to be in a format readable.
Have a good day.

Re: route in format *.rtm

I completed the route from Helsinki to Stockholm, as this should from berth to berth and not pilot to pilot. Remove the .pdf
