route “Highway” size

When using an active route and displaying the highway, I can not find a way to resize/increase the size of the highway window. It seems that dragging the window is not possible and I can't find any setting to resize this window.

Using Ubuntu 16.04 x32.

Re: route “Highway” size

I am developing the autopilot route plugin which has the same highway but is slightly larger. There too is no way to resize it. Is this needed? Why? I can implement it in the plugin at least.

I think having resize borders would waste screen space

Yea, it's needed - too difficult so see to be useful without the possibility to resize on my display.

Re: route “Highway” size

The attached conf file is from my desktop at home with 1920X1200 display - in the boat with a smaller display, the route highway window is too small.

petter5...

Sorry I was not clear. I would like to see a picture of the actual screen, with too-small highway.

Thanks
Dave

Re: route “Highway” size

This pc is on-board my vessel now - will have to go there to make screen shot.
Mostly, the width is "standard" but I would like it to be possible to adjust the size when needed to be easier to observe that you are following the route without sitting close to the display.

Re: route “Highway” size

See photo of route in use for testing. Except when your nose is close to the display - it is very difficult to see. - If it had been possible to enlarge just like other dashboard items/instruments like the compass under (enlarged as an example) it would be very useful when following a route.

Re: route “Highway” size

Petter5...

I see, thanks for the image.

In OpenCPN 4.8.4, The size of the route console window is automatically controlled by the size of the fonts selected for the annunciator panels.

So, to make the entire window (including the highway) larger, you may try increasing the size of the fonts for "Console Value" or "Console Legend".

Curious:
Why is not OCPN running on those two nice (blank) monitors shown in your picture?

Thanks
Dave

Re: route “Highway” size

These monitors is a part of tactical situation awareness system and not meant for navigation.
Opencpn is on-board just for testing purpose - using position/AIS data from the pilot plug.

I was interested in increasing the size of the "Highway" too and found this post. Increasing the font size worked perfectly. In fact, Also realized how much i enjoy the increased font size on the Route Data as well.

Thank you!!
