Route Export/Import Problem

Hello all, I have searched for the issue I'm experiencing, but can not find anything. This leads me to believe the problem is user-error, but hopefully someone can shed some light.

I just recently started using/testing OpenCPN v4.0.0 on Windows 7 x64 SP1. I loaded up several chart groups, including an ENC set and the accompanying RNC set. I decided to plot a route using the ENC set by setting rough waypoints from start to finish using small detail zoom, then went in to a larger detail view and fine tuning by inserting/dragging new waypoints/legs along the way. I added label names and marina info to planned marina moorage locations. Finally, I exported the route to a new .gpx file. After closing the program and later importing the saved .gpx route info for review, I noticed that many if not all of my waypoints had shifted location. Also, the waypoints that I had meticulously labeled and inserted grid/phone number/hailing channel info/website links/photos/etc for marinas had been wiped. There were absolutely no names on all but one of the waypoints, and all of the saved info on each marina was gone.

Does anyone know what may have happened during the export process? Can I not plot a rough route, then fine-tune it by dragging and inserting new waypoints along the way? Any help would be appreciated.

Austex...
Your workflow seems absolutely normal. Can you attach the exported GPX file, please?

Thanks

Re: Route Export/Import Problem

This is the saved .gpx file. You'll notice the route has me cruising right over sandbars, rocks, and through forests and over islands. I assure you this was not plotted under the influence!

Re: Route Export/Import Problem

Well, the route does not seem too odd to me, is what you get when you import it the same I do on the screenshot attached or different? In case it is different, by how much the Klemtu WPT is shifted?

Thanks

Pavel

Klemtu was the only "Fuel" waypoint that didn't change. You will notice in this screenshot, after Klemtu waypoints NM007-NM012 track right through the center of Princess Royal Island.

Re: Route Export/Import Problem

Can you give us the exact coordinates of some of the shifted WPTs then?
This is what I get importing your GPX, no error present I would say...

Re: Route Export/Import Problem

So as I was gathering information from within OpenCPN and using text line editor to view the .gpx file, I have found issues. Long list of text to follow. The items on the left are the Waypoint names as pulled from within OpenCPN. The red text denotes what the .gpx file actually has saved.

Re: Route Export/Import Problem

What's displaying in OpenCPN is not what is saved in the actual .gpx route file.

Ex: In OpenCPN, the waypoint labeled as NM001 is actually labeled in the .gpx file as:

name: Discovery Harbour at Campbell River
desc: VHF 66A
desc: 50' 02' 02" N 125' 14' 39" W
desc: (250) 287-2614
