Route Display Options

I imported a Route made from a Track. All the waypoints are displaying their name and cluttering the display. Anyway to turn off the "name" for all Waypoints in a route?

Re: Route Display Options

You can click on each waypoint show in the route, select it's properties, and uncheck show name. I'd assume you're looking for a 'faster' way/sort of a select all type of option, but I'm not aware of any.

Re: Route Display Options

GPX files can be edited by a text editor. You might have to temporarily rename to ".txt".

Do a "search and replace":

Search:
viz_name>1</opencpn:viz_name>

Replace:
viz_name>0</opencpn:viz_name>

Make a copy of file before doing this. Do for each wpt (easy to do)
Replacing the "1" with a "0" should turn off display of wpt name.

Re: Route Display Options

Does your gpx include this, when you open it in a text editor:

Code:
<opencpn:viz_name>1</opencpn:viz_name>
If it does use use a basic text editor and change these lines to:

Code:
<opencpn:viz_name>0</opencpn:viz_name>
Mike

Sorry s/v pelagia, you beat me to it.

Question Re: Route Display Options

Funny, our posts about what to search & replace look very different between full CF desktop view on a PC vs on the Android app.

Mine looks correct on Android app, but odd on PC; yours is correct on PC, but missing much on Android app.

Re: Route Display Options

I had to re-export the route to see this format, but then it worked. I should have edited the route name also.

Re: Route Display Options

OpenCpn in C:/Proram Data
edit:- Navobj.xml
seach for:-

<wpt lat="5.999151667" lon="-58.305290000">
<time>2020-04-25T19:54:13Z</time>
<name>7</name>
<sym>empty</sym>
<type>WPT</type>
<extensions>
<opencpn:guid>71fdffff-1720-4f0f-a974-ece713020000</opencpn:guid>
<opencpn:viz>1</opencpn:viz>
<opencpn:arrival_radius>0.050</opencpn:arrival_radius>
<opencpn:waypoint_range_rings visible="false" number="0" step="1" units="0" colour="#FF0000" />
<opencpn:scale_min_max UseScale="false" ScaleMin="2147483646" ScaleMax="0" />
</extensions>

replace by in line 8 of the previous
<opencpn:viz>0</opencpn:viz>

make replace all
then your names will not appear on the charts but will still be there in Properties.

That is the proper way to do it.
Good luck.

Re: Route Display Options

For the average user it might be easier to use the DR_plugin:

Re: Route Display Options

I have put a request for similar functionality. A few more votes would help it along.
