Route deactivating randomly

Hi,
I am using OpenCPN having installed Openplotter on a Raspberry pi.
It works fine except for one small problem. The route deactivates itself every 15 minutes or so. It can be reactivated by right-clicking but will subsequently deactivates again.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Re: Route deactivating randomly

My guess, you have every now and then a wrong gps position. Causing OpenCpn to think you passed the waypoint and closes the active route.

Try to record the nmea stream and closely examine it for strange data.

Re: Route deactivating randomly

That could be possible. I had both a USB GPS and the main Raymarine GPS connected but I thought I had the data from the main GPS filtered out. I disconnected the USB one and OpenCPN was still getting GPS data. On my last trip there was random track points thousands of miles away.
I will do as you suggest and monitor the source of the GPS data and also see if odd or spurious data is being generated
Thanks for the help.
