Re: Raymarine Quantum Wifi Connection

Hi,

Thanks for all the comments. I have a wireshark log of the first connection / authentication if anyone wants to take a look. The wifi radar connects easily to my MDF, so I'm not as worried about getting it to talk to a different network. This will be "future work"... to much other stuff on the to do list
Cheers,
Mark

Re: Raymarine Quantum Wifi Connection

I am trying to do the same thing - I've got as far as entering the IP into OpenCPN but unsure of the port to add!

Does anyone know what port the Quantum radars use?

Re: Raymarine Quantum Wifi Connection

You do not add the radar as a connection, the radar plugin connects to it directly.

Ah, ok, thanks!

Edit: it's connected! Although I can't see the radar actual display window just the options window.

Got it by snapping the floating window - works now!

Re: Raymarine Quantum Wifi Connection

I just acquired a E70210 Quantum Radome and would like to use it with OpenCpn on my Macbook Pro and my Raspberry Pis (P3 and P4).

(and yes, I've been reading all entry in the forums)

I can NOT connect to the WiFi of the Quantum directly for the reasons explained in various forum entries (DHCP and such). So I understand that the pairing has to be via a Quantum compatible MFD.
I'm willing to bite the bullet and buy an Axiom7 (hopefully used) to achieve that.

What I do not understand yet is once I have the Axiom7. How do I best get the radar data into OpenCpn ? And some forum entries mentioned low resolution of the Quantum info on OpenCpn but it wasn't clear to me why.

Anybody who can calrify some of this I'd be happy to hear

cheers - Ernie
