Is it possible in general to see the Garmin radar on a MacBook? Or do you need a Windows Computer?

You should be able to see traffic with tcpdump, or a packet sniffer like Wireshark.

Hello,

after soldering the Ethernet cable things got better.
I can see a green light at the network window for Ethernet and the Garmin special I created.
But rather the Mac nor a Windows Laptop see the radar.
Windows writes scanning for interface but nothing happens.

Is there something wrong with my settings?

something happened while changing the IP to 172.16.2.0

a window popped up asking if I accept changes to open cpn.
and now I have open cpn searching for interface.

But even if I wait a long time nothing changes.

No matter which IP adress I enter.

I made it, too happy.
Don´t know what I really did.

By turning on and off the switch on Pin5 seamed to work.

I can confirm that the issue happens also on Garmin HD radar as of today (OpenCPN 5.2 with Radar plugin 5.1.4). Can you incorporate the change also the HD radars, please?

Any chance this will all be available on a tablet. Tablets have water proof cases and can be used outside. Also take far less power than a computer.

What I do is to run O and radar_pi on a PC or a RPi (Raspberry Pi) and view on the tablet using a VNC
