Hi everybody.
I am having an issue with the new radar plugin. Till last week I always used
opencpn 4.8 on Ubuntu 16 and the old br24radar plugin with a
Navico 3G
antenna. Never a problem, great piece of a program!
Then I had to reinstall the OS on my pc, always ubuntu, 18 now. I then installed
opencpn 5 from the ppas (as described in the manual), and after a few tentative steps, managed to download the opencpn-plugin-radar (the online
documentation in some
parts still mentions the old br24radar, that I could not find).
Now, new opencpn, new plugin... the radar plugin, when enabled, ask me what kind of radar I am going to use. If I select Navico BR24, 3G, 4GA or 4GB the whole opencpn crashes. The error message in terminal is "Segmentation Fault (core dumped)", nothing more. If I select Garmin HD, xHD, Navico Halo A or B, it works (but I do not have those antennas...). I installed opencpn 5 and the radar plugin on three different PCs, all of them running differents versions of ubuntu, but the result is always exactly the same. Has anyone any idea? Is it possible at least to revert to opencpn 4.8 and the old br24radar? I tried it but found no information on the web.
I do not have a Navico display for the radar, so I really need the plugin to
work...
Many thanks, I look forward to your replies.
