We will be updating the radar_pi wiki on github soonish with instructions as this keeps coming up and I hate doing things twice.
For now, can you tell me what the reported serial # and firmware date is. To find this, open the Info window (via Menu > Window > Info ...).

The reason this one might work is because it is so ancient.
Glad to hear it works for you. It doesn't for many others and we do not provide any support for non-WiFi radars over WiFi.

It seems that the Q Experience project also did not find a solution to soften the edges of the radar image of the Quantum radar integration. You can only see that they are slightly softened.

There should be images here but I don't seem able to post them from my phone. I'll try later from my laptop.

Re: Radar plugin 5.3.0-beta released
The latest Halo radars may not be recognized by radar_pi. This has been solved in the new radar_pi 5.3.2 beta release that is now available in the beta plugin catalog. An updated master release will come out soon.

Hakan, could you be so kind to have a brief look at my recent thread, regarding the Navico setup?
I still have issues getting a signal from the radome. Thanks.

Franziska, could you send me a logfile (opencpn.log) of the session where the radar is not recognized? Before making this log, make a change to the opencpn.ini file. Find VerboseLog=0 and change this to VerboseLog=13. In case you are unable to make this change to the opencpn.ini, send me the log file anyway.
And don't forget to undo the change later.

Hi Douwe,
thanks for looking also into this, I prepared the log file, do you have an email address where I can sent it to?
The forum software says it's bigger than 1000 bytes and does not allow to attach it. It has 385kb...
Kind regards,
Franziska

Re: Radar plugin 5.3.0-beta released
Attached here after all.
Forum does not allow zip. Therefore rename the attached doc to zip, unzip and rename the resulting txt to log.
My boyfriend (the Sparky onboard) is just checking the cable between radar and PC.
It's brand new, so it should be OK.

Re: Radar plugin 5.3.0-beta released
IT IS WORKING!! HORRAY!!
What made the difference?
For one part the crossover cable, and for the other, that the THICK black cable is the negative pole.
I was fooled by the attached drawing out of the B&G manual. There it appears that the thin wire is negative.
The shield wire is drawn bigger.
But, it turns out that this thin black wire is shield.
My boyfriend said it's odd that the negative would be thinner than the red positive.
We swapped it and, all is good.
So so happy!!!!
