Program crash when scanning s63 charts

When loading latest NZENC update, Open CPN goes through all the motions of creatng encs, no problem...press OK, the directory scan starts, gets about 1/3 of the way ...a window flashes up and says something about "screenshot" but it disappears too quickly to read, and the program exits.
This was all working fine until 2 things
1. Udated to 5.10.2
2. Updated the NZENC base

I have mbtile satellite charts as well....and they work fine, as long as I don't try to add the s63 charts

Also when OpenCPN starts, it comes up with a comment about Photolayer plugin, says it has caused problems and will be uninstalled - it's not in my list of plugins, even when i update the catalogue...so i don't know about that.

Any ideas , anyone ??

Alan...
Quick test here, no trouble on latest NZ chart drop.

Two things:
1. Do you recall which region of NZ chart set was being updated?
2. May we see your opencpn logfile?

Thanks
Dave

Another option to try: delete the latest download - the update - and fetch it again. To exclude some broken file.

Re: Program crash when scanning s63 charts

Dave, they are two parts of the same logfile.
I had to split it into two due to size.
Yes, it is a logfile from a session which crashed when scanning the S63 charts.
Cheers
Alan

Re: Program crash when scanning s63 charts

Alan....
Obviously a bug, working to track it down.
Meantime, for you to get going, please delete all of the ".ehdr" files in this directory:

"C:\ProgramData\opencpn\s63\s63SENC"

Then import the charts again the OpenCPN S63 dialog.
The ".ehdr" files will be re-created as needed.

Thanks
Dave

Re: Program crash when scanning s63 charts

A crash happens too when one the files is corrupt. Namely when this file is the one opened up as default by the program.

Re: Program crash when scanning s63 charts

Missing charts are another indicator of either broken cell downloads or "out-of-order" install of updates.

You might consider to delete the entire directory of the S-63 charts starting to install cells with the master set and next the update as well.

You did not enable the S-63 install log, didn't you? Might give some hints too.
