Printing from OpenCPN?

I'm trying to print out chart-let with way points and route marked up. I've tried using the print button and all I get is a series of black bars across the page.

I've been through the printer settings and looked through the OpenCPN (V3.0.2) help stuff and don't seem to be able to resolve it.

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong or if there is a known issue with the print function?

Can I do a screen shot, if so how?

Cheers

Dave

Screen shots are done by control prtsc. then past into word. Works for me every time.

There are known issued with printing in OpenGL mode in 3.0.2.

It's a known problem in 3.0.2, described like this in the tracker:

Quote:
When using the Printing Icon it always prints the last view where OpenGL was off.
If O is started i GL mode, garbage is printed.
The problem is solved in the current beta release.

Cheers for that, I'll try the screen shot route 1st as I'm not sure what the DC mode is or what it does. I just download it and sort of expect it to do stuff!!

Anybody know if we going to able to plot great circle routes with it at some stage? I tried the ruby software thing and got completely lost, thought it just drop in and away you go...........

The 3.1 Beta does great circle routes, and printing works.

How long is a piece of string?

It's a beta release, has only had limited testing and has at least one known bug in Vector chart settings.

If you want you can do a parallel install, use 3.1Beta for great circle printing and then 3.0.2 for navigation.

Re: Printing from OpenCPN?

When do think the stable version will hit us then?

Not planning any great distances again this year (Only crossed the Atlantic this year!), but it would nice to play with and see how it works.

How do I set up parallel installaton then?

You'll get the option to do that while running the installer.

Great! Please post your feedback and any problems in the beta 3.1.919 thread when you've used it for a while.
