Portable OCPN Crash on Exit

Am using XP and have created a Portable OCPN per the manual.

Works great EXCEPT it crashes on exit.

I have confirmed that I have all the files on the USB stick as described in the manual

Any ideas

Terry...
Are you using some other plugins besides grib and dashboard with this version? can we see the end of the logfile?

Found the problem. The aisradar plugin causes the crash. No problem with ge2kap, google earth, vdr, logbook konni plus dashboard and grib.

That's what I thought... This problem is already fixed in the plugin, I will publish the updated DLL as soon as I find the time to do the build...

Thanks .. will keep a lookout for it.

The manual does not list an important folder that must be on the USB stick. It is also necessary to include the 'uidata' folder or the program won't start.

Re: Portable OCPN video

I have made a 'video' of the procedure to create a Portable OpenCPN program for Windows on a memory stick. It is in .avi format and unzips without a password.

Download from http://www.mediafire.com/?jjvq7fz85cw3739

Re: Portable OCPN video

My apologies! The video posted previously has very low audio for some players.

This one should be better? http://www.mediafire.com/?t283dn4hotp9df4

Feedback welcome.

Well done

This video should be available on the OpenCPN portal in the "Download - videos" tab

Re: Portable OCPN crash on exit

Thanks for USB tip.
Discovered when I was going to share the contents of the USB stick with a friend in the "Dropbox" system. that one can also run OpenCpn and maps from the "Dropbox" server however one must be online.
And then have the USB port free for other use.
Hope I was understood
