What OS? What version of Opencpn? What version of Weatherfax?
Difficult to know what your problem is.
Did you try Retrieve > Internet? Perhaps read the manual. That is always helpful.

The plugin does have a panel for internet retrieval. It is located as stated below. The internet connection is handled by the OS. There are far more useful things to program for this plugin than that. I would prefer focus on those things.
