Re: Plugin Testing (All Operating Systems) Needed

I don't know what to say? but seems that Plugin management interface is not working properly, same in two o.s.
  • windows 11 O 5.10.2-0 AIS plugin 1.4.15
  • Debian bookworm arm64 O 5.10.2-2 plugin 1.4.15
same procedure in both computer:
  • options - PMI tab
  • update catalogue (Dec 24, 2024 18:22)
  • no green arrow on AIS Radar plugin
  • click on it and only options available, re-install or uninstall.
  • uninstalled, apply, OK
  • again, options - PMI tab
  • update catalogue and same date for latest.
  • click on AIS Radar plugin, shown attached screenshot
  • installed latest version 1.4.18

Why is not shown the update arrow in the plugin?
Why is showing as candidates for install two versions?

still there is one text not available to translate and not translated "Nautical Miles"

the plugin is working correctly.

Re: Plugin Testing (All Operating Systems) Needed

Thank you Corsair, posted in OpenCPN Issues and Zulip.

NOTICE: There will be no more plugin updates to the TP Template Plugins until USERS have tested and reported "Success" (or Fail) for every one of these OS builds. So Users please participate, we are reliant on you!

(We must first know that all OS builds are working and install properly, to verify that the template is "good", then it can be "deployed" to build all the other plugins!)

I'll work on it this weekend.
I think I have debian-arm64-12-bookworm-arm64
I also have a Win10 computer, but I think that's been tested already.

It's OpenPlotter on a Raspberry Pi 5

I downloaded OpenPlotter from here:
https://openplotter.readthedocs.io/l...wnloading.html
Installer file I used: 2024-06-19-OpenPlotter-v4-Starting-stable-img.zip

Re: Plugin Testing (All Operating Systems) Needed

Attached are my notes from testing Weather Fax on Raspberry PI (OpenPlotter) and Windows 10

Can't clearly state Success or Failure because there are issues.
The update of master and install of the plugin were successful, but using the plugin had minor issues and issues around HF Capture. See Summary and attached file for details.

I will test AIS on these two platforms end of next week, when I expect the NMEA 2000 hardware and cabling to arrive; however, not sure how useful testing will be because I am 15 miles from the coast and all I can pickup are one synthetic AtoN (9 miles south) and one USCG (rescue21?) tower broadcasting its location (15 miles north).

Summary:
There is very little difference between Raspberry Pi and Windows 10. The differences are in the HF radio section, but testing that section might be invalid for me because I do not have an HF radio connected/configured.
All notes in red are specific to Windows 10, which I used for comparison.
  1. Version installed shown on plugin manager screen is 1.9.20, but About screen shows 1.10.6.0 (same for both Win and Pi)
  2. No way to clear all map checkboxes in Internet Retrieve screen, like there is for Servers and Sources
  3. HF Capture behaves differently in Win and Pi ( I don’t have HF radio installed/configured). Win: Capture window opens when plugin is launched. Pi: Plugin window opens when Retrieve --> Capture is selected

Re: Plugin Testing (All Operating Systems) Needed

Dear Craig and others,
  1. I think we have found an issue with a MacOS required library that is not loaded in certain versions.
  2. Hopefully this will be resolved at some point, but it would be very helpful to know if the plugins loaded and installed without a problem. If there is a problem, please attach the logfile which shows the issue (if you can find it, just that part that shows the error. It will be at the end of the file). The upload file ending should be .doc or .pdf. (We will remove that to view the file.) "Success / Fail" is about the Frontend2 Template and the plugin installing properly.
  3. Then the second part of the question about issues related to operation of the plugin, yes that would also be helpful. We normally record these "Issues" in Github under the source repository, but adding it here in the CF Thread is perfectly OK. -Craig your uploaded pdf is very helpful. Thank you.
  4. Incidently, I just tested selection of multiple faxes for download and it worked on a number of Servers and Regions. Is there some specific wxfax that has an issue?
  5. I hope that we can get the rest of these OS Builds tested soon!!
Rick

Re: Plugin Testing (All Operating Systems) Needed

I would like to help more, but I am now sure which of remaining OS to be tested will work on the Raspberry Pi 5 that I have.

I tested Open Plotter yesterday and I think that is debian-arm64-12-bookworm-arm64. File I installed to boot is 2024-06-19-OpenPlotter-v4-Starting-stable-img.zip. If this is true, then this entry "debian-arm64-12-bookworm-arm64" should be marked Success

On another micro SD card, I installed "2024-11-19-raspios-bookworm-armhf-full.img.xz", but it does not have OpenCPN.
  1. Is "2024-11-19-raspios-bookworm-armhf-full.img.xz" the same as "debian-armhf-12-bookworm-armhf"?
  2. How to install OpenCPN on this OS if it is not part of the image (like with OpenPlotter)?
  3. Of the remaining OS to test, which will boot on a Raspberry Pi?

Re: Plugin Testing (All Operating Systems) Needed

Jon Gough reports:
Polar 1.2.31, on OCPN 5.10.2 running on macOS ventura -13 running as a VM on Ubuntu 24.04 and the plugin worked, as far as I could test it. It certainly didn't crash when I clicked the polar button.

Re: Plugin Testing (All Operating Systems) Needed

VDR 1.3.41.0 has been added to the plugin catalog.
Sebasien-Rosset is improving this plugin greatly. There are still a few things to work out but it is worthwhile giving it a spin. MacOS users, PLEASE.

Also a new version of the wxfax plugin has built but is being tested. It won't be pushed to PI catalogs until it is tested for MacOS.
