Plugin "Autopilot for Raymarine"

Hi,

I compiled this plugin for my rpi:
https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...utopilot_rm_pi

I use an older Autohelm ST2000 tiller Pilot.
This pilot is connected via a Seatalk/nmea-Bridge from gadgetpool to my nmea network and I can send route Infos from OC to the pilot and windinfos so the pilot can rund in the normal compass mode and also in route and wind modus.

Now I have success to use this plugin. After I allowed OC to send "STALK" sentences to the pilot and changed the Settings in the brige that the brige also send and recive "STALK" sentences I got a connection to my pilot via the plugin.

So over VNC and a wlan connection to my rpi I can use this plugin as a remote steering when standing or sitting at the bow.

Regards

Andreas

Andreas, did you update the gadgetpool software yet? There was a bug and the new software is available. See the wiki under supplimentary hardware tiny seatalk link.
If you have done so and found it corrects the problem described, please advise.

Re: Plugin "Autopilot for Raymarine"

Hi,

I have an older version of the seatalk-bridge
gadgetpool.eu - !!!!SeaTalk NMEA Bridge - SeaTalk und NMEA Geraete verbinden

My network on the boat is a little bit special.
When I bought the boat there where Simrad instruments (Log/lot/wind), a Garmin GPS, a vhf dsc radio and the autohelm tiller pilot.

The GPS and the vhf where connected.

I then connected the simnet with the gps (via NMEA) and use the bridge to get wind and gps route infos to the tiller Pilot (for using the route and wind modus on top to the normal compass mode) witch only can read seatalk.
I have no other seatalk instruments witch I have to convert to nmea.
The direction NMEA to seatalk works great for me without faults (and with the sentences I need).
Since using OC I send route Infos from OC (not from the GPS) via NMEA and the Bridge to seatalk to the tiller Pilot.
The wind info get the tiller Pilot via NMEA from the Simrad instruments (Simrad->NMEA->bridge->seatalk->tillerpilot).

So I didnīt recognize the problem converting seatalk sentences to NMEA cause I only use the other way NMEA to seatalk.

It seems that the way I use this bridge donīt have converting problems, all works fine and as expected (just for the sentences I need).

So I canīt help with the bridge problem, sorry.

Regards

Andreas
