I had the same issue, PhotoLayer is not available in the OPCN 5.2 plugin catalog under Windows 10.
I just give a try, still not in ... (PhotoLayer ver 2.1 previously installed in OPCN 5.0 and migrated to OPCN 5.2)
It is on linux.

Please have another go at updating the catalog. At this end it has version 3.1.17.0 in the list.

You may need to uninstall the previous version first using the 'uninstaller'.

Hello Mike,

I am confused, even after updating the catalog (master and beta), i still have the 2.2 version
Nota : the system says that this plugin is not managed by OpenCPN

Have I done something wrong ?

I am frequently confused!

This problem has plagued me on a number of occasions. Reload, restart, reinstall, replace, remove and then finally it decides to listen to the installation instruction.

No help at all but I cannot think of any other way forward.

Sorry Windows is 3.1.27.0

Different version for everyone apart from Windows users. Not able to build the Windows version with the same code. At least I could but then 'trusty' users would not have an installer.

Do you have libtiff and libgeotiff on your system? Both are needed.

sudo apt-get install libtiff-dev???
Not sure about libgeotiff.

Has anyone got this plugin working with Raspberry pi?

I appreciate the time you put in to this plug-in.

I am having a bit of trouble getting it installed. The log is below FYI. Seems like the URL in the plug-in leads to a 404-not found error. Confirmed that with the URL in a browser. I tried a bit of manual download and install from your repository, but I couldn't get that to work either. The tarball (Photolayer_pi-3.1.27.tar.gz) "doesn't contain required metadata."

Any ideas on what to try next?

I think Mike needs to update his cmake configuration and build the plugin again, and push to opencpn/plugins to update the catalog.
He's a regular so he'll probably see this, but you could PM him.

I am using Photolayer plugin to overlay geotiff of depths (for uncharted areas). Works great.

NOW, I wish the photolayer plugin was available for ANDROID OPENCPN!

You seem to be using
photolayer_pi-3.1.21

Try an update of the master catalog and try again.
