PERMIT.TXT file location

I have OpenCPN 4.8.6 and S63 1.12 and oeSENC 2.4 plugins installed in my Lubuntu laptop. I have installed a UserPermit and created a fingerprint file. Under <Options><S63 Charts><Keys/Permits> I have a UserPermit installed and test = "Userpermit OK". New Installpermit = "y". I have purchased an ENC Coastal Chart from a Hydrographic Office and unzipped into my Home/CPN/Charts directory and I can see that there are three new subfolders, ENC_ROOT, EXTRAS, and INFO. When I hit <Options><S63 Charts><Chart Cells> <Import Cell Permits> I am prompted to select a PERMIT.TXT file however a command line search for the filename "PERMIT" does not locate anything. What have I missed?

Re: PERMIT.TXT file location

DDD....

Normally, the PERMIT.TXT file is somewhere in the distribution set, possibly named slightly differently. For example, see attach screenshot for Greek ENC distribution.

If you cannot find it, check with your chart distributor.

Re: PERMIT.TXT file location

AArgh!
My bad!
The email i get notifying me of updates and carrying the link to the update folder also has the Permit text in a zipped folder attached, which i have been ignoring.
so i probably haven't downloaded an update into OpenCPN fo months.
i remembered it used to be more complicated.......
So, for me, it was attached to my email.
