OpenCPN with Google Maps & GPS

It's probably nothing new, but I had a lot of fun creating a large .kap street map of Ubatuba from Google Map using NoniMap View and GE2KAP.

I also created a special,direction orientated car icon to go with it.

During a shopping tour this evening I brought along my laptop and a newly purchased puck type GPS magnetically situated on the car roof and the results were quite satisfactorily although it seemed at times I was driving on the pavement or on the edge of the road. However,all probably due to poor calibration.

When I go to sea,I'll substitute the car for a vessel icon,and set nautical miles. Good to see OCPN is totally versatile and I look forward to the Android version,when I shall probably change to an Asus Transformer with removable keyboard.
