Having carefully followed the evolution of O4.99, I also followed the translations carefully. And unless I'm mistaken, right now, everything is correctly translated.
In any case, just look at my screenshot attached to see that the item "Show tide stations" is correctly translated.
Whatever, "Ports de référence" is not ideal. Because some tide stations are not Port de références, but are "Ports rattachés" (At least for Merak56 data from the coasts of Europe).
But a text like"Ports de référence/rattachés" would be too long.

Pourquoi ne pas traduire simplement par "Afficher les marées"
Pourquoi ne pas traduire simplement par "Afficher les marées"
.....
And there is the activity of translator that is involved ... I do not say the job, because it is not my job.
In O4.8.8, the item in English was "Show tides". In O5.0, the item in English is "Show tide stations".
So, when I translated this, I considered that I should avoid betraying too much the author (Dave being the author). So, I replaced "Afficher les marées" by "Port de références". Otherwise I will have put "Marées : Voir".
In fact why "Voir" plutôt que "Afficher" ? To accustom users to do with short texts for use on tablets and especially on the smartphone version under Androïd.
By the way: Why "Marées : Afficher"rather "Afficher les marées" .. Count the characters ... "Marées : Afficher", is more short... And again in the Android version, it's important..
Therefore, I think I'll go back and put "Marées : Voir" in the language file, knowing that this change will only be taken into account in a future version 5.2 of OpenCPN ...

As I said in my French language comment, we are sailors, not politicians, No need to add to the workload of these volunteers who have generously given us OpenCPN by adding language versions to adapt to subtle local preferences. English in Oz, NZ, England, Scotland, Wales etc ......... varies. The possible complexities are endless but trivial for sailors

degradation to 4.8 ?
I noticed that the special notation of waypoints referring to tidal stations is not working any more. e.g. @~~muros should show in route manager the next tidal events.

Wasnt there a findTidee_pi ? - cant find it in the download area anymore.
That bizarre implementation was replaced with something people are actually able to use, each waypoint may be assigned a tide station and that is used for tidal event calculation.
Some effort, but not much is invested in converting the old encoded station definition to the new one, if it does not work for you, please attach a GPX sample so that I can fix it.

Thanks Pavel, for explanation - I tried it and like it! (if I am correct you even sort the station on relative distance - clever!)
First of all, thanks to the team for the work.
I downloaded ver 5 and so far it looks good, but I will not get to the boat for a while to really make it work
QUESTIONS I had no trouble making a .KAP chart from Google Earth. When viewing the GE chart, it shows only on certain zoom levels. Other than using two chart windows, how to flip from GE chart to standard chart?
Is it possible to vary the transparency and overlay GE chart on standard chart?
