Ahoy OpenCPN family....

The Official Beta test Release Candidate 1 (RC1) Version 4.99.1517 for OpenCPN Version 5 is available now.

Here are the Windows and Mac installer download links:

Please check your Flyspray tasks, and request closure on those items that are completed. Or, add additional comments if necessary.

If no serious regression errors are found in RC1, then this will become the Production Release after minor touch-up.

Sound issues
Macbook, 10.13.6, "Unknown device :0" is only sound device.
No sound, cpu 100% when alert/bells triggered by system.
OCPN becomes unresponsive, only the beachball spinning , when pressing "Test alert sound"

Sound of macMini with 10.14.3 is ok here.

This shall not be a problem: "Unknown device :0" is only sound device

Did a complete remove, reboot, reinstall. From clean install, Select alert sound, Test alert sound. Same issue.

The default alert sounds plays fine both in GUI/Itunes and shell/afplay. Sound is otherwise working 100% on the Macbook.

Hi,

Parallel installation on Win10, Icore5.
The canvas shows the dashboard in the center (right of the 1st screen) and no longer to the right of the two screens as before.

I have uninstalled the previous version of OCN499 and restarted the PC several times, this display is still the same.

Small note in passing, it would be nice to have the canvas'option directly in the icon menu bar (one click).

The sounds will play if OCPN started from cli with sudo.

It seems to work now. The dashboard is now well positioned to the right.
I continue my tests.

I just added Flyspray 2538 to report that on restart of RC1 the left canvas is blank. The right canvas is not affected. Database rebuilds do not help. Problem has migrated to previous version 4.99.1507.

Left canvas looks like cm93 water. Note 50 metre scale bar. Try zooming out a bit.

Move Active Route Console Window to the right side of the canvas
In the mode of two canvas, the Active Route Console Window is attached to the left canvas and it turns out like that in the middle and not in fengshui!
It will be more practical to place the Active Route Console Window on the right side.
Also with Active Route Console Window in Windows 10 taskbar, Route Console Window as a separate application.

You can move it anywhere across the two canvasses you like.

I also agree with your previous 'Small note in passing'. Make the canvas selection easier.

My previous offering of ships bells has been included in RC1.
Since then I have tweaked the .wav files for better sounds and timing.

Got a compile error on Ubuntu 16.04 and make bailed out with:
'/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lwx_gtk2u_webview-3.0'
The previous version (4.9.9_1507) compiled and worked just fine using the same machine and setup.

Just cleared out the previous source and OpenCPN installation, downloaded and recompiled.

Bad luck? Anything related changed in source or dependencies?

No cmake errors at all.
