Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Release 4.99.1426

These releases have all been updated for the new MUI on the main display of OpenCPN.

Still work to do on the Options->Plugins page icons.

https://github.com/Rasbats/DR_pi/releases/tag/v2.1.1
https://github.com/Rasbats/otcurrent...ses/tag/v2.5.1
https://github.com/Rasbats/vfkaps_pi...ses/tag/v2.1.1

These 'new' beta plugin pre-releases have also been updated:

https://github.com/Rasbats/shipdrive...leases/tag/2.1
https://github.com/Rasbats/photolaye...ses/tag/v2.1.1
https://github.com/Rasbats/UKTides_p...ses/tag/v0.2.1

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Release 4.99.1426

Having problems compiling WeatherFax_pi using Visual Studio 2017.

Code:
fatal error C1189: #error: Macro definition of snprintf conflicts with Standard Library function declaration
Google shows a lot of people having the same issue with other applications. Does anyone know how this can be resolved?

I am sure Dave will be along soon to explain his decision. It has certainly created a lot of work. And then there is the the manual to edit!!!

Well, I'm under Linux not Windows so I didn't try the exe above but I compiled the git master instead.

Well done ! The zoom factor is quite nice now, 0 is too small, 5 is very large, 3 will be fine for my usage. See the attached screenshots.

However, there are still two issues:

- when you change the slider then click Apply, only tide/currents get scaled (see for example slider5-a.png, where I changed the slider from 3 to 5 then clicked apply), you need to quit and restart OpenCPN, in order to see buoys/lights/soundings being scaled correctly (see slider5-b.png)

- the scaling of the top right GPS indicator is done when you click apply (see for example in slider5-a.png), but as soon as you restart OpenCPN the scaling factor is lost (look at the size of the GPS indicator in slider5-b.png)

Stelian.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Release 4.99.1426

I just tried the new release 1428.

Using the same MbTiles file.

In version 1426 I could use the details of the maps. image 1

Now in 1428 it goes not further the screen image 2. Then black tiles appear.

What has changed ?

Regards,

Bram

Hello Pete,

I'm happy if this help you....

Just copy / paste the attached file MUI_flat into the folder "... / uidata " after saving the original.

NB: I did not change the print icon because I do not use it, so I removed it from the menu. And I kept the "teeth/wheel" because it seems more explicit for me...

It's likely

src/defs.h
most of this stuff should be removed with a modern MS compiler

Seems like scale=5 could be amplified a bit more, and of course fix the tides/currents.
Agree?

Dave

Dave,

I also would wish for a UI scale factor > 5. For big displays 5 is not enough. But i think this will be like peeling an onion. There will be other display elements that some users will not want scaled the same as a group. So I suspect it may require some kind of detailed set of sliders where each one controls scaling of a particular subset of nav objects.

These big displays are going to be much more common on even ordinary vessels due to their cost and low power consumption. No only that but many computers used for planning are going to be using large hires displays.

Mike,

You see this a lot:

Code:
/* Visual Studio 2015 / VC 14 / MSVC 19.00 finally has snprintf() */
#if defined(_MSC_VER) && _MSC_VER < 1900
#define snprintf _snprintf
#else
#define HAVE_SNPRINTF 1
#endif
VS2017 has standard snprintf whereas before that Microsoft had a non-standard variant.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Release 4.99.1426

I had the same errors. All I can say is look elsewhere if it was compiling, its bigger picture stuff.

ov4.8.2 wx3.0.2 is compiling now
https://ci.appveyor.com/project/rgle...uilds/22664250
See the green check. Look at the commits.
https://github.com/rgleason/weatherf...commits/master

Had to put back a file that had been removed and use the right version of opencpn.lib API 1.14 (4.8.2) changing the sourceforge download in the appveyor.yml file (by changing "4.2" to "4.8.2") along with some dig-g and sean magic.

Dave ...

Understand the policy for toolbar icons is MUI. What about the Options->Plugins page? Grib_pi looks a little green!
