OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #3

Hello all OpenCPN users.

Here is Beta #3 of the formal Beta Test series for OpenCPN 5.7.1. This Beta test series will result in the Production release of OpenCPN 5.8.0, in a few weeks.

Most of the 100+ issues reported for Beta#1,2 have been addressed and resolved for the Beta#3 release. There are a few minor issues still pending.
Please verify your individual reports, and provide additional information as appropriate.
Significantly, OpenCPN has been adapted globally to support scaled displays on Windows 10/11. This feature is known as "DPI Awareness".


Here are the MacOS and Windows installers.

MacOS:

I just installed 5.7.7 #3.

At startup, the previous settings required that the texts were displayed in size "12". It was too big.

I tryed to use the cursor present in the "User" tab, but it didn't work. And after several tries, I got a screen where a black bar replaced the plugin status bar.

I stopped OpenCPN, and restarted OpenCPN. The status bar is back to normal.

I decided to place the boat in the left zone.



The status bar has changed in the left zone but not in the right zone. See screenshot

No change concerning the indication of shallow depth drying in the new version.

(Question : Is it "Additonal" or "Additional" ?)

There appears to be a space between the "_" character and the first digit of soundings emerging at low tide. Is this space necessary?

Windows 11 14.1" laptop Intel UHD600 graphics on 2160x1440 screen.

With default scale settings for chart text and objects all display at pretty well perfect size. Dialogue boxes and user interfaces are also scaled perfectly too. Impressive!

I'm not on board until April so can't test connections and other performance yet.

This version crash upon opening with Windows 10.

Track Icon does not (always) show correct state


in below screenshot the mouseover text says "disable tracking" while the icon is not highlighted. The text seems to be correct, while the icon is not.


This happens randomly for me, I currently do not have a way to "make it happen"

I went back to version OpenCPN 5.7.1+e05722f on account of that and also on account of crashing always upon openning. So what should I do now? Chart CHS S57. Also, raster ed 3 and CM charts.
