Hello all OpenCPN users.

Here is Beta #2 of the formal Beta Test series for OpenCPN 5.7.1. This Beta test series will result in the Production release of OpenCPN 5.8.0, in a few weeks.

Most of the 55+ issues reported for Beta#1 have been addressed and resolved for the Beta#2 release. Please verify your individual reports, and provide additional information as appropriate.

Here are the MacOS and Windows installers.

MacOS:

Linux: The linux packages are available as usual in the OpenCPN Beta repository:

Beta build available now. Version identifier is: "5.7.1-1+5d6ab03"

To install:
$ flatpak install --user https://flathub.org/beta-repo/appstr...CPN.flatpakref
or
$ flatpak update org.opencpn.OpenCPN//beta

To run:
$ flatpak run org.opencpn.OpenCPN//beta

Android:
Coming soon.

For local builders, the source code is in github, on branch "master" at tag: "Beta_5.7.1_2"

HI,

Perhaps this is intentional but when you turn an mbtiles chart off there is no longer a red X in the piano bar to indicate so.

OpenCPN 5.7.1 does not start but crashes.
After all that time still not learned how to compile it for macOS ?
Very poor.

Hi,

I have three mbtiles on the screen here but only two of them warrant piano bars, the smaller one at the upper right is missing. Is there a setting somewhere to increase the visibility threshold or something?

- the .pkg does install but does not run
- the .dmg does install and run....

macOS 13.0.1

- light sectors are ok now

- dashed lines have improved, but not perfect. Especially in the case of dashed arrows of the TSS

- the compass/GNSS icons are distortioned and jump between one side ok or the other (split canvas)

I am not sure, if this is helpful: TSS looks good on MacOS 12.6.2.

As I have already reported why when you click on the square for the tidal diagram on S57 charts, the strengh of the current is indicatd like this:- 1.5º and not kn.

Perhaps because nobody knows how to convert a direction of 1.5 degrees in knots?

AIS target list has a funky black background in brightest color scheme around the buttons, some text can't be read. Dimming causes a more correct grey background with readable text. This is on Debian SID/bookworm, amd64 and armhf
