Refactored slightly to improve persistence of last chart scale displayed. This corrects the oesenc_pi observation above.
In github now.

Thanks for being picky...

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

I'm noticing that clicking on a way-point always brings the WP dialog box up in the middle of the screen, even if I've previously moved the WP dialog off to the side.
  • Double-click on a way-point - dialog box comes up in the middle of the screen
  • Move the dialog box off to the side somewhere but leave it up
  • Double-click on another way-point
Result: the DB repositions to the middle of the screen (which I think anyone would find annoying).

I thought dialog boxes were supposed to remember their size & position now, certainly within a given session. Win10 (2 installations)

Just confirming that your fix works for all my tested charts.

I can also confirm Jon Hacking's observation regarding the position of the WP dialog box.

As well ok for macOS 10.15.5.
Scale, chart group and viewport correctly recovered and reported after restart.

OpenCPN V 5.1.612 always asks macOS for permission

Every time I launch OpenCPN on MacOS under Catalina it asks permission to allow OpenCPN to record the screen. It takes you to System Preferences > Security > Screen recording panel, where you find OpenCPN is already in the list of programes allowed to record the screen.
It should only ask the first time but it asks every time.
This is so for OpenCPN 5.01 and the latest beta.

I've seen this in the past, but since some versions of the Beta it stopped.
What version of Catalina are you on? Here 10.15.5

10.15.5 here too. But I think I have fixed it. I quit OpenCPN and opened Settings>Secirity & Privacy > Privacy > Screen recording and then unlocked the panel and selected OpenCPN. Since then it seems to be OK.

It appears that going to the panel when invited from within OpenCPN does not work, but going there independently does.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

Display of tides/currents display are broken here (Linux, Ubuntu 20.04, Dell XPS 13, hidpi display, x2 screen scaling)

The first screenshot is from OpenCPN 5.0.0 running on OpenPlotter 2.0. No errors here.

The second screenshot is what I get from OpenCPN v5.1.612.

Once manually resized, I get the third screenshot: there are multiple issues:
- unable to fully see the scrolllist at the top right
- slider is not shown
- if I click and select one item in the scrolllist it becomes completly white (foreground and background), so I cannot read it anymore....
- I'm not even sure the values in the scrolllist are correct (compare with the ones from 5.0.0, both are using the same current harmonics)
- anyway the graph at the bottom is wrong, seems to be the same on every day (if you click on prev/next day you will get the same graph amplitude, just shifted in time by one hour)

Same behaviour with tides.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

Regarding the OpenGL + screen scaling problems, is there something new ? Can I help somehow ?

I'm talking about this issue, still present on 5.1.612: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3153474

I'm also having some display issues in no-opengl mode, like in the attached screenshot:
- the toolbar, some icons disapear after a few clicks on the toolbar (click on settings, then close the dialog, then click again on settings).
- the GPS icon on the top right disappeared as well
- what are those circle fragments ?

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

On Windows 10 Pro, all seems correct. Tides and currents curves and slider for current graph are OK. The scale of the charts are also OK. Thanks for these added features. (Version5.1.612).

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

Stelian...
OpenCPN v5.1.612 does NOT SUPPORT Ubuntu 20.04 Screen scaling.

It is likely that upcoming OCPN 5.2 Release will also NOT SUPPORT Ubuntu 20.04 screen scaling.

However, I acknowledge some problems in 1X mode with tide/current table listings. I will investigate.

Sorry
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

OK Dave, thanks for answering. That's a pity especially since it worked previously.

Should I consider my hardware+software configuration (Ubuntu + hidpi screen + screen scaling) unsupported for now, in both opengl and no-opengl mode, or should the latter still work correctly (in 2x mode) ?

Thanks,

Stelian

Sorry, what worked previously? Where?
I'm always on the lookout for regressions....

Thanks

On the same machine OpenCPN 5.0 runs just fine with OpenGL on.

Stelian.
