Strange..
It looks like you have chosed "Base" Category. Than it would look like your picture. On oeSENC and "Standard" it should be as my pict.
But if you've oeSENC you are using an alternative chartsymbols.xml? Try to go back to the original as a start and check for differences.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.428 Beta Test

Hi Hakan,

yes, it's oeSENC
yes, alternate chartsymbols.xml. Original moved to .bak,

when i try to go back to the original, i still see the same picture, as if it is cached somewhere

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.428 Beta Test

One suggestion, why not have a proper scaling such as:- 1/15000, etc.… in the proramm, this could help to have a better idea to compare with raster charts.
Best Regards.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.428 Beta Test

Code:

rastersymbols-day.png is definitely available

/usr/share/opencpn/s57data/rastersymbols-day.png

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.428 Beta Test

Hi Dave,

great news to see an even better version coming!

While cruising for the last year and using OpenCPN every day I noticed some glitches but sadly did not report them yet. :-/ (on Linux)

So the question is: Had the following things also some improvements?

My Track sometimes have some track-pints with bad GPS data that may come from a bug in signalk or whatever. I did not find the root cause yet. But O uses them nevertheless and so the track has some "spikes" to other places on earth thousends of miles away. So I end up in editing my track bei exporting it, using a shell script to find and fix bad coordinates and the importing the track again.
While doing this OpenCPN often crashes and sometimes looses trackdata and I had to restore tracks from backup one time or another.

So:
- can O ignore GPS-data which is obviously wrong? (maybe this was the checksum change I saw in your changelog summary?)
- Have there been any fixes in track editing/import/export function?

Thanks!

-Marc

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.428 Beta Test

Found it. I don't know why, but opencpn found copy of chartsymbols.xml in my $HOME. After I moved the file, it works as expected. Nevertheless I send log with incorrect behaviour

Another curious thing: if you delete .opencpn ( fresh installation ), opencpn welcomes you with the message I attach in the attachment

This I can confirm. I've been using this O version the last weeks. I thought it was some GPS trouble. I can't reproduce it in a good way using old VDR files so I've to record some new VDR to show Dave. You don't happen to have have some already recorded to upload here, do you?

BlackSea....

Studied your logfile. A bit confusing.
Where/how exactly did you install the oesenc_pi plugin?

Thanks

Nope.
What is your use-case, please?

"Can not change color of the track, ok in 5.0"

Works OK for me. Can you tell me what you have tried?
Anyone else?

Thanks

Mbtiles first appear hidden. Rationale?

When viewing an Mbtiles chart for the first time it is hidden and must be displayed with that RED X selection.

Any rationale for this? It is bothersome.

Tough to have it both ways, but there is some logic.
MBTiles are still and always "Overlays", and not "Navigational Charts". So disabling overlays on initial load seems not a very big burden to users...
