Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.4 Released
hi
just checked my OpenCPN version,is
Android Version 1.0.5
Base 4.1.1028
Build date 2015-10-28.
Two questions
should I upgrade?
second, where is the site/link to download
thank you very much
I did go to Forge but looks like there is no download for Android?
that is strange as I have my working copy installed, just do not remember how I did it?
When I try open the recent downloaded file gives an error?

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.4 Released
Davil,
You have the latest I believe. Android is on a different version numbering and has its own support forum separate from the Windows/MAC/Linux flavor. The app should direct you to the support portal. Try the ? button.

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.4 Released
I tend to believe the latest version is 1.0.22 as announced at https://bigdumboat.com/aocpn/AOcpnnews.html
I also tend to believe the so called "free" version will never be updated by it's "author"...

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.4 Released
The latest Android version - comparable with the actual OpenCPN - is
1.0.22 from 2018-12-17
Base OCPN 4.8.4
This one:

I thought was the wrong link as thought was free ? and just sent a donation via PayPal.
If am wrong and the download must be done using Google Play and have to pay that amount then is fine, this program is outstanding and I tend to rely on more than others I use, have no problems with paying, just like to make sure am doing it correctly.
So,just go ahead, this download and charge are legit?
thank you again

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.4 Released
Click on the ? icon in OpenCPN's toolbar, then on the authors tab and read the first line. Then have a look who is the author of the Android version of OpenCPN in the store. I would say that is legit enough...

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.4 Released
There is as well a dedicated forum for this Android OCPN package as the issues and questions in the case of Android are quite different from the "main stream" OpenCPN. Run by Dave.

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.4 Released
Is anyone at OPENCPN updating the install information for Raspberry Pi on the website? The current info relates to closed or missing links, bad keys, and inapplicable instructions

Thanks Nohal, after I saved the waypoints in OpenCPN I opened up Babel and in entry chose GPX XML format in output I chose Cambridge/winpilot glider software. Then I used Microsoft Excell to open the file and when clicked on the coma box on the second assist page and this produced a spreadsheet with all the waypoints saved in there original form, no need to convert anything. Now I can print it out which is what I originally needed.
Thanks again.
