Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.1 Beta Build 0625
George...
OK.
To be clear on this, we cannot use the same port for all three of AIS, GPS, and A/P in Version 3.0. We just can't.
We can, however, use the same port for GPS and A/P, without shared AIS port. In this case, the AIS should go on its own separate port.
Or, the GPS and AIS could be on one port, and the A/P on its own port, as you currently have configured.
Changing this behavior could go on the list of improvements to OpenCPN for Version 3.2. There are big changes coming in the area of port management for 3.2, so it seems a good time to make this case work.
I hope you can come up with a configuration that will work for you in the meantime.
Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.1 Beta Build 0625
Dave,
I can live with the configuration I have at the moment. I'm glad after a long struckle we figured out what was the reason the AP got no info.
I would be happy if this could be on the list of version 3.2 Would that also include the ability to have a GSA sentence derived from the nmea satellite sentence? I think people using the Clipper GPS would be very happy with this one

re:
"Very strange depth info in cm93, Lake Erie seems to have a "universal" DEPARE of 5 or 5.5m in huge areas, no matter what depth is displayed on the charts."
Another cm93 gotcha, I'm afraid. The DEPARE features at many spots in the Great Lakes have no DRVAL2 attribute encoded, only DRVAL1.
We show what we know....

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.1 Beta Build 0625
Hi.
I don't know if this quirk relates to the fixes: when I displace a map and there are blank areas around, it dissapears. To see it again, I need to zoom-out and zoom-in again. Sometimes the program does not allow me to zoom-out of a map, I need to restart it to view a larger area.
Is this the expected behavior?
This is on debian 6.0, ocpn v 3.01
Thanks for any info.

Earlier in this thread, Dave says hte grey areas in ENC charts will be fixed in the next Beta and officially in 3.2.
If you zoom in they will display properly.

Sorry, I did not remember it well.
That said, even zooming in, they have not disappeared.
Best regards
Gilletarom.

Gilletrom,
I guess I shouldn'r have sounded so definitive. Let me try again. When I zoom in on the Great Lakes area of the US, and I zoom in far enough that the smallest scale chart, in the area, overflows the screen (I'm guessing here), the chart will be displayed. Sometimes this takes 6 or more zooms, maybe 2 or 3 zooms after the screen is filled with grey.

Now causing OCPN 3.0.1, same problem. But de-zooming, zooming again, and from ON to OFF OpenGL, OpenGL then Off to ON, the problem disappeared .....
After this, I stopped OCPN. I restarted. Now all is Ok. Analysis of the charts should not be done properly.
Best regards
Gilletarom

Bug report: In this beta release you fixed the heading of the ownship icon (when connected to an AIS), however on the Dashboard HDG still reads "---"
