"the icon".... exactly which icon are you referring to?
It would also help if you attached your log file?
See FAQ | Official OpenCPN Homepage.

Go to Tools>Plugins and ensure that the grib plugin is enabled. If it is disabled, the icon still shows on the toolbar but nothing happens.

Now I have another problem when I disable the grib plugin the icon disappears from the tool bar. Then it reappears again when I enable it. Could it be working backwards? It worked with 2.5 I have had no trouble enabling or disabling till now. It seems to be with 3

That reads very strange to me...

"when I disable the grib plugin the icon disappears from the tool bar"

...this is exactly what is supposed to happen! Only enabled plugin tools are shown in the toolbar. How can that be backwards? Or are your hands writing something else than your brain wants them to ? (Happends to all of us sometimes...)

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.0 Release

DeborahLee....

There is an anomaly. Not your imagination.

If you enable GRIB by toolbox->Plugins (Enable), then the GRIB icon will appear, and when you click it you get the GRIB file selector dialog. Standard 2.5/3.0 behavior.

If you then disable the GRIB, by Toolbox->Plugins->Disable, then the GRIB icon is supposed to disappear. It does not. This is a bug. It will disappear if you restart OpenCPN. In either case, if the GRIB Plugin is disabled by Toolbox->plugins->Disable, clicking the icon (if it is shown in error) results in nothing.

How does this match your experience?

It looks like a bit of a mess here, with the depth just after Lt Bns. The maintained depth is 3 m, but the messages appears a bit mixed. Also the 3 m depth appears as a subscript, in all zoom levels that displays the dredged area.
Is it possible to do anything, to make the info clearer?

That looks like the good old wxWidgets 2.8.x (where x is something < 12) html table rendering bug. Is it possible your system has old wxw libraries somewhere and you are picking those up?

Jesper

I have 2.8.12.1-0 from apt.wxwidgets.org/ installed.
Apart from those I have 2.6.3.3 installed, but I can't see those interfering.

Nah. I went to that location and it turns out it has half of a depth range in the chart database. DRVAL1 is present but DRVAL2 is missing. That screws the html. I will fix.

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.0 Release

Hi Dave,

I downloaded V3.02 but still have the same fault messages that Opencpn.exe has stopped working the instance that I try to download this. Do not know where to go from here. I have an Asus Computer with Windows & 64 bit which shouldn't be an issue.
