...hotpluggable gps would be useful in windozzze too! because (whether the nag remains or not) ,O must be restarted and the nag doesn't mention this...

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

Hi,
some of the light descriptions look as they were "double typed" and are unreadable, tested also with 2.6.1624, same effect.
(win7-64). declutter text shows one line clearly, but the second line is missing.

With the version 2.6.1705 the current arrows on vector charts S57, are turn all towards the north. To be corrected.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

Hello and Thank you for the fine software

I've just upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but I am receiving the following error in the terminal window on 12.04 with opencpn 2.6 Beta Build 1705-1:

GPSD and Opencpn 2.5 worked fine on Ubuntu 11.10. Upgraded for dual monitor functionality in 12.04, handy when sailing!

Running on a Toshiba P20 Laptop with dual monitors.

GPSD is working fine but no position is read by opencpn?

Would appreciate any advice.

Sandeman....

The screen error reports are probably false reports from wxWindows and gtk.
Do your screens look right?

You say gpsd does not work.....

Lets start by looking at your opencpn logfile please.
Also, please tell us more about your test setup.

Thanks

Welcome to OpenCPN.

There is no need to SCREAM, we can hear you.

As for your request. Have you read the documentation at opencpn.org or the version that is included in the program?
I seems to me, that what you are asking for, is already available.

Thomas[/QUOTE]

It not display on the main page, if in the harbour we can not see ship size on the chart.
Pls display AIS heading and ship size in the chart not in target information or target list.
Thanks

Capt. Wang....

This sounds like a Feature Request. We invite you to enter a new task in the opencpn bug tracker.

OpenCPN::Tracker All Projects: Tasklist

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

In the new version, the vector charts section does not display/hide any of the
Mariner' Standard items. They can ALL be switches on/off but do not work!
Earlier,it was possible to untick a number of items to eliminate the land area, leaving
the sea area only, making the resulting chart ideal as an overlay on a GE map.

What happened?

Sinbad, I'm not having this problem with cm93 ...for instance, I tried Ferry routes on/off in Mariners Stdrd and it works visible/invisible works fine. Which are you turning off that don't work?

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

Impossible for me to successfully upgrade 1609 to 1705 on a dual boot Ubuntu 12.04 .
I get errors message displayed in screen dumps attached .
The first one with the Thomas's package and the second with Dave's one.
As I have absolutely no skill using Linux , I didn't tried "ignore and install" (second dump) which seams dangerous

JP...
"Ignore and install" on the second screendump is pretty safe... All it does is it installs the package as it did with all the previous versions.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

Thanks Pavel

But nothing better ... (installation never ended and I stopped manually)
So I de-installed all old packages and ran a clean new install
the same result but this time the button "Ignore and Install" worked
Now 1705 works but with some misbehaviours (and seams to be less good than in Windows) :
-When Opencpn start , there is no toolbar . I have to click in the upper left side to make it displayed
-When double clicking on an object the first time in the session , OpenCpn hangs for a while . Then after this function works
- F11 switch to full screen only if "Show toolbox in full screen" is unchecked
- Zooming sometinme become crazy (when closing an object query dialogue)

.... I only made first simple tests

May be the opencpn's installation is not correct .... or Ubuntu's itself , because I had many problems installing this dual boot
