Did not have this problem with the preceding Beta or the stable version

Enjoy

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 412

Hi all,

Thanks for the new beta!
I installed Build 412 on my HP G62 laptop with W7 HomePremium 64.
In my opinion it's more responsive, faster with the screen outputs in several functions but maybe that's my vivid imagination?
I can confirm Sinbads findings. I see another "entity" in my Taskbar, belonging to OpenCPN.

I also installed Build 412 on my Twister board PC with W XP SP3.
When I start the toolbox and cancel it, no problems.
When I start the toolbox and change anything, OpenCPN crashes.

I added two screenprints.

Cheers,
Len.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 412

Win 7 Home Premium

I had some strange quilting behaviour when I first installed 412 but that went away after I unchecked and rechecked quilting in the toolbox. No toolbox crashes as reported by others. I also have the phantom window on the taskbar and I have strange taskbar behaviour. I have the taskbar set to autohide and it will not "autoappear" while I am running OCPN. Other than that no problems.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 412

Very Nice!
I still have the xtra taskbar button but don't care.
Otherwise,Seems faster and as usual, pretty tough for a windoze app!
The Layers thing is working and is very handy.

I still have this in the log:"09:59:56: Error: Image file is not of type 9."
It's been there since the previous beta but without any ill effect I can see. What does it mean?

I found that reading my log closely helps get all the plugins straight ...IE: I had the layers folder in the wrong place to start...and the Magnetic declination "WMM2010COF"file wrong place too.I think these caused a few crashes before and might help others?

Bug fest over

Just unstalled and reinstalled the beta

No more crashes

F10 worked for while then stopped working I support using F11 and can we hide the toolbar as well for when navigating to maximise screen real estate on a netbook

regards

Are there any Windows users who don't have the extra taskbar button?

I DO have the extra.

Win 7 64bit - AMD quad core.

Also, when starting, the bottoms of two windows from Gimp overlay the Windows taskbar. While I am typing in Firefox, the bottoms of those two windows can be seen blurred behind the taskbar.

Also, the menu bar is missing in the OpenCPN screen, and no key combination I have used gets it back.

First screen is with OC in focus. Second is with gimp in focus.

Manimaul...

Your post:

Code:
Another bug on 412

When s57 and bsb charts are available... Charts highlight in viewport that are not in the quilt when hovering over their icon in the bar.
Can you post screenshots, or give some more examples?

Anyone else see anything like this?

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 412

Dan..

Setting the Vector chart zoom scale to a lower level crashes OCPN.
Increasing the zoom level does not.

The SHIFT F10 sequence still does not work for me to set up full screen.

Notice the differences in highlight and the information available in the chart info dialog.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 412

The scale bar at the left of the chart diaplay obscures the Lat values When grid is displayed Not a problem at some zoom values but gets worse as you zoom in so that scale bar goes from top to bottom of chart

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 412

my test on .412 (W7 Ultimate 32bit):

1. No full screen (nor F10 neither Shift+F10)
2. Extra minimized black window, grouped with OpenCPN icon in taskbar, have to do two clicks to get OpenCPN up (one to see both apps, second on main app to get it up). ALT+TAB does not show this extra black window.
3. settings where not transferred in full from previous version during instalation (AIS settings back to defaults)
4. Can not get CM93 chart to show soundings (checkbox checked, slider to max details)

Otherwise - F6 brightness toggle working nicely (thanks!!!) and no force closes (yet) while opening/closing toolbox, layers, etc.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 412

Thomas....

The chart info and highlighting are indeed different on 412.

Are they better? Clearer?

We could highlight just the part of the quilt that shows a particular chart, or (as we do now), highlight the entire area covered by the chart, including the eclipsed portions.

Other comments?
