Re: OpenCPN Release 4.2/4.4 Final test

v4..4 runs well on W10 and XP.
I though have an issue, new or not:
When deleting a lot of tracks OCPN window gets black and "Not responding" for a time. One or three deletions is OK but more takes time. Even if it seems to hang O eventually returned to normal but the black screen is worrying if navigating in narrow waters.
What about some "do defaults" or similar in between each track deletion?

The navobj.xml from where I should delete all tracks is to big to upload but is available here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...20-%20Copy.xml

Too late for O44 Release.

Please capture this issue in Flyspray tracker so it won't be lost.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Release 4.2/4.4 Final test

Have used v4.4.0 on Win10 for the last two days, testing plugins. No immediate or obvious problems so far, but have not fully exercised it.

Re: OpenCPN Release 4.2/4.4 Final test

Dave, help ......

In the language files folder "locale", there are now two sub-folders for each language. For example in French, there is the "fr" folder and the "fr_FR".

Some explanation would be welcome for the poor translator I am ... Thanks in advance.

Re: OpenCPN Release 4.2/4.4 Final test

Hello Dave,

Second question :
OpenCPN was running correctly with Ubuntu 14. OpenCPN do not run with Ubuntu 15.

As it is necessary that I rebuilt my old Ubuntu PC, do you thing that it run with Ubuntu 16 ?

Bram

"I have done this:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa/opencpn/opencpn"

Thanks

Dave

[/CODE]This is a good solution. The new Beta PPA does not include the support and data files. For production use, when the release is mode to the "release ppa ( ppa/opencpn/opencpn)", all will be well.

Ok Let's use it.
Installed and ran OK now . Thanks
I had only one display problem with the grib_pi plugin :
When opening the first time the plugin in a cession, the different dialogs are not displayed correctly (see screen shots attached ) Then when they are hidden and shown a second time, in the same cession, the display is OK.
It appends with all the dialogs
I've never seen that before with others platforms, so I suppose it's specific to Xubuntu 16.04 as I migrated recently to this platform.
The only workaround I found is to add a sequence "Show - Hide -Show" . This is curious and may be there is a more clever way to fix it ( see patch attached )

Gilletarom...

1. fr translation files: Where are there two directories fr and fr_FR that you mention. What context?

2. What error is reported for Ubuntu 15 ? Logfile?

Thanks
Dave

I think I am still O 4.2 not working on Ubuntu 15. I have not tried Ubuntu 15 with 0 4.4. So no logfile

Thanks

See the contents of the 2 folders fr and fr_FR. This mismatch occurs also for some other languages. Seems to be wrong cmake files for some reason.

Gilletarom...

regarding fr and fr_FR directories...

I'm not sure how that happened. As you can see, the main OCPN code .mo is in one directory, and the PlugIns are in another.

Do the translations work correctly at runtime for both core and PlugIns? They do OK for me....

Here I'am running Ubuntu version 16.04 Mate on the Raspberry Pi 2 and 3. With the latest updates en kernel upgrade. Glxgears does now 99 FPS. No problems to be seen.

Grib display only works full when a grib file is added.

What I know is that this is an ongoing change of how Crowdin use the language files. The old two letters code, like fr, is to be exchanged to a "locale with underscore", fr_FR. Pavel has started this and can for sure explain it all in better words but it's to be able to distinct between different languages of the same kind like the two Portuguese from Portugal and Brazil. Now is one of them overwritten by the other. The plugins will continuously be adapted to the new format at its next version update. Some are, as you have seen already fixed.
