OpenGL on/off makes no difference.

It can be cleared by entering options and exiting without making changes to the charts, or closing and re-opening OpenCPN.

Cheers,

Please Ignore this. It seems it was related to WxWidgets 3.0.0.
After I correctly installed 3.0.2 the problem seems to have disappeared.
I'm not sure what happend with installing from the PPA, but all logs showed WxWidgets3.0.0

Sorry,
JM.

Now it seems that the menu is opened on Alt-keyup instead and then Windows is already in charge since Tab has been down/up when Alt is released. But, and this a bit strange, another Alt down/up seems to be received by O before focus is gone. That's the menu down>up.
The result is that O is nicely left and focus is switched to the other app. When returning to O next time the menu is still closed and O waits for nothing more.

I could of course try 4.0 again but honestly why? For me the behavior without XP avoidance is good enough. Why not do the same in core code and ask for other XP testers comment?
If that gives you bad feelings let it be as it is in your code now, I don't care much for the menu. And, as said, in Win10 it's very good.
Håkan
What are you guys talking about? I tried Alt and Alt+Tab on Win10 and neither one turns off or on the Menubar.

Thank you for getting this fixed! I don't get the key up / key down nuances. How about a separate pair? Alt+m Alt+= anything that does not screw things up.

No - Alt function is fine in Win10 and for me in XP as well. This will soon be solved and quiet. Pls be patient.

I have no background world map.
?Apparently the gshhs folder is not included when I
"git clone git://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN.git" ?

Are you building from source on linux?
There should be something in data/gshhs after you clone. IIRC, the github repo contains the "CRUDE" gshhs dataset only.

On linux, you need to specify the gshhs detail level in the cmake command, like

Code:
$cmake -DBUNDLE_GSHHS=CRUDE ..
The default GSHHS detail level is "NONE".

Try the cmake again, and look at the output for a message like this:

Code:
"*** Package will include GSHHS basechart level: ${BUNDLE_GSHHS} ***")
Good Luck

re:
The only thing that is still missing is the ability of printing the Charts in A3 format. Printing works but no option available to choose A3 format. I also like to have paper Charts which I print with my A3 colour printer.

I looked at this earlier, and found that it is a wxWidgets/gtk issue, not fixable in OCPN without completely cloning and replicating the gtk printer driver entirely, AFAICT.

Honestly, I'd call it short-sightedness in the wxWidgets printer manager class. But whatever, it is broken. And not easily fixable.

Sorry

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

I have the following PI's grib, ge2kap, Dashboard, Squidio, GoodAnchorage, WMM, Chartdownloader.

Activating/Deactivating Squidio, GoodAnchorage and WMM cause the toolbar to shrink to the postage stamp icon; the others do not.

My Wx data comes from an Airmar PB200 over N2K and interfaced to OCPN (and others) via an Actisense NGW.

It used to work but I think broke in the 4.1018 beta, but I never pursued it as I was sailing at the time and not running the beta.

I can send NMEA logs from GPSGate if required. Although I did send you some a long time back for something else .. same setup.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Håkan,
This should be fixed with patch 597 to OD. I stole the left mouse button up event when the OD popup menu had been displayed.

I'm not sure If this issue is own by OD(Jon) or O(Dave) but reported here anyhow.

A mouse left click is normally used to center the chart.
After a right click on a OD boundary (no need to make a left click in the box) the chart center function is disabled.
Another right click on the chart canvas will restore the center function.

1 Right click on a OD boundary. (Select a function and goto 3 or goto 2)
2 Left click on the chart canvas to close OD preferences box.
3 Left click on the chart canvas to center - nothing happens.
4 Right click on chart canvas. (Select a function or not.)
5 Left click to center - works, sometimes after a short spinning mouse. (Also close and restart O will of course restore the function.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Not sure if this is new or not but where does Tides get the time from?

My pc is set to UTC but when I display a tides graph the caption is showing AST.. which I think is UTC -4 which is incorrect for my location anyway... whatever I want UTC only. Note the red bar on the graph and see the time in the dashboard.

Putting aside the above incorrect time stamp the tide curves are out in some way that I can't calculate. More or less 5 hours early.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Hi,

The issue with my font is wx 3.0.2 but it's the same in wx git:
There's an Ubuntu font family (default? native?)
when OCPN requests a wxFONTFAMILY_SWISS it gets back a new wxFONTFAMILY_DEFAULT font so there's never a match in the fonts list and every text creates a new wxFont.

We can't change wxFONTFAMILY_SWISS to wxFONTFAMILY_DEFAULT it's set back in wx/src/common/gdicmn.cpp wxFontList::FindOrCreateFont

Idea? Find and scrub them?
