opencpn on ubuntu oesenc error fingerprint creation

Hello everybody,



first of all, sorry for my poor english (as I live in Paris.....)
I just completed opencpn installation (V5.0.0) on my DELL laptop running ubuntu 14.04 LTS

oeSENC 3.0.0 installation worked well, but I am not able to generate the fingerprint file : ERROR creating fingerprint file check opencpn log file !


last lines in the log file :

18:33:31 CEST: Create FPR command: -g "/home/francoise/.opencpn/"
18:33:31 CEST: execvp(-g, /home/francoise/.opencpn/) failed with error 2!
18:33:31 CEST: oesenc_pi: oeserverd results:
18:33:31 CEST: execvp(-g, /home/francoise/.opencpn/) failed with error 2!


As mentioned in the tutorials, I tried to generate the fingerprint out of the network, I got the same answer.



Does somebody have an idea ?

Difficult to say how a five year old version of Ubuntu shall work with OCPN 5.0 and oeSENC 3.0

The libraries will not match. Update to 18.04 LTS for example?

thank you for te advice. I didn't realize that I was with an obsolete ubuntu version on this old PC.

It worked pretty well after upgrade to V18 and clean reinstallation of opencpn & oesenc-pi.
