Hmm that seems it is a bug.

You could try manually forcing the fbo off by changing:
[code]
m_b_DisableFBO = false;
And set it to true in glChartCanvas.cpp:442

I think it's maybe a buggy driver.

What about raster charts and the background map, do they work ok at any zoom setting?

The background worldmap zooms in and out without any problem. Then tried a KAP chart. Also no problem zooming in and out. But after doing a lot of zoomings in and out with the KAP chart, the system locks-up and needs a reset.

The memory setting on the RPI 3 is set to 160.

Not yet tried the other hints.

Bram

FYI: I read that the new OpenGL driver for Rpi is not using the "memory setting".

When I tested this I was seeing a lot of error messages from the driver by displaying: dmesg in a terminal window.

Would love to help with debugging this but we are on the move now, so not much time, I also frankly do not know how to report these errors.

Cheers,
JM.

Re: OpenCPN on Raspberry Pi2

Today a kernel update to 4.4.17-V7+ and again a better working of VC4 OpenGl in combination with OpenCPN.

However with zooming out I still have to "wipe" the screen ro remove the fragments of the former chart. But it is certainly more stable.
