Opencpn no chart downloader on mackbook pro

Just to be sure I went ahead and deleted everything I can find an open CPN and then reinstalled from your link to be sure. And I believe it worked because now I have the tab that says chart downloader however when I attempt to add a chart via Noa or any of the other options in the box I keep getting this error message

Are you sure you selected an actual chart catalog source and not a "folder" in the tree? Unfortunately it is hidden by the error message, but this operator error is the only thing I may think of that may cause this.

Operator error is a very real possibility.
I select USA NOAA and hit ok and get that error message. I have also tried all the other chart options also with same result.

The catalogs are many and for that reason placed in a tree structure of folders, you must open the folders (By either double-cliking the name or single clicking the triangle icon to the left of it) and navigate to the actual catalogs (Which do not have the folder icon but a "book" icon).

I have no doubt you are correct sir! What brought this thread on was when I downloaded the program I was trying to go along with the YouTube to to tutorial until I found out I was missing the download button. Now maybe I can pick back up with the beginner videos. Thank you very much for you top notch help on this!

No that old CI package is not available anymore. The fix will be included in the 5.0 maintenance release once it is available.

Perhaps the download button is actually there, but due to the change in OS there needs to be some work with wxFormBuilder so that the MacOS will show the Download button (It is probably below the window area).

If you ask him nicely, Ron Southworth may be able to fix it for you until the official version is fixed for MacOS. Please understand that the Programmers are very busy and some of them have very limited time for items such as this. Nohal is a stalwart, highly competant and reliable programmer who we all depend on. I think Ron may be able to help in the interim, so PM him.

Hi Rick

The chart interface seems to function ok from my experiences, however the default colours makes some things difficult or near impossible depending on your hardware to see on macOS.

Darks on darks light on lights there are a few places this needs some tweaking i suspect this is most likely the challenge.

Not certain what download button specifically is not visible ? Any idea which video ?
