OpenCpn Install on Android Tablets Easier Now.

I have just installed a paid version of Opencpn to my Note9 , plus paid plugin. I need it as a backup for S63 charts donloaded to my laptop (already have the charts installed). But, seems like the route differ: On Android there is no "S63 module " at the Plugin menue. I was going to create a fingerprint, input the UserPermit (I ve got from the O-charts) annd, get a Install Permit (went this route
with my laptop). Is the any difference with Android ?

I'm considering new tablets since my beloved Lenovo Miix2 is on its last legs, so I might be interested in figuring out how to do the "full" OpenCPN Linux install on an Android tablet. Now that it's 2021, is there a recommended procedure to install a Linux flavor (Debian? Ubuntu? Lubuntu?) onto a modern Android tablet with decent power management and capability to use the onboard GPS? I'm open to ideas from those who may have been working on this for the past 6 years.

Failing that, I'll probably go with a Surface Go 2 running W10/W11 and bring GPS (and AIS) in through Bluetooth.

I realize that Dave's OpenCPN for Android is now available and mature, but there are features of the "full" OpenCPN build that I'd like to have. Plus, I like to store routes and tracks on Google Drive and sync them up for use on my desktop computers at home.

I don't think GNU/Linux is really viable on an Android tablet. There are hacks that I see sort of work. The problem is that there are so many different architectures that Android runs on. So for example, without a viable display driver and keyboard/mouse, you need to ssh or VNC into the linux install once it is running.

OTOH, GNU/Linux would work fine on a Surface, if a surface is something else you are looking at.

A number of plugins are available for the Android app. They may be reviewed, downloaded, and installed using the integrated plugin manager. The old style plugin "apps" previously available from the Playstore are no longer supported.

Hi there.

Im an absolute beginner of opencpn. Coming from Navioncs, and happy with navionics except the todays costs of meanwhile any lake, if I may say so. Its not the money, which wants me to flip to opencpn, but the principle, not to accept any price.

I would love to get a great link to learn opencpn and install it just on my android tablet. Sailing areas are mediterrean and caribe.

I install recently OpenCpn from the app in Play storee, in a Samsung tablet Galaxi tab A8 SM-X200, con software ONE UI versio 6.0
For some strange reason the internal GPS put my boat in Delaware in USA as per attach, but actually I am in North of Spain in Gijon.
The GPS seems working fine with other applications , but not with OpenCpn
Any tips ?
I add the print screen of the GPS location the log of OpenCpn is heavy and I do not know what can be interesting or not, so I copy below , hopefully somebody can help.
I did not re install the charts, because I try to re install the application , but is indifferent at this stage chart or not chart.
