Re: OpenCPN General

The whole trick is that to make the EVO pilot work (or work well if you want) the most important is PGN 126208, which is the general "I can transfer pretty much anything" PGN. Similar for other vendors.

This makes the autopilots a prime example of devices that most benefit from implementation in a plugin with architecture similar to the current radar plugin (= one implementation of the underlying shared stuff reasonable extendable for the different products).

Better architecture than trying to do this in the OpenCPN core and sure much faster to yield usable results.

Time and date sent as NMEA data from OpenCPN?

Hi

Is it in any way possible to send time and date from Windows to the network as NMEA sentences, so that this can be used by other devices on the system? A plugin that can do this maybe?

Thanks.

The time and date are contained within the NMEA0183 data from the GPS. That can be output from OpenCpn if required.

If ZDA is received you can output that.

Re: OpenCPN General

Thanks Hakan.

A more detailed description of my problem:

I get GPS data from an AIT2000 (Digital Yacht) and use the YDEN-02 (NMEA – Ethernet gw). It’s got a data logger for saving waypoints, but it’s not working because there is no “system time” according to support at Yacht devices:

“You don`t have date/time in your NMEA2000 network (PGN: 126992 "System Time"), so YDEN can not make waypoints. You need to add device which sends this PGN constantly.”

So the GPS data OpenCPN gets should already be on the NMEA bus, so probably something here I don’t get?

Re: OpenCPN General

Kjetil..
OCPN is not prepared to send PGN 126992. And I'm not sure if that would be a common future feature.
I think you have to dig into your N2k devices to find a possible solution. The PGN126992 would be a task for the AIT2000?

Re: OpenCPN General

Sure that you'll have personalised sounds for any situation in OCPN.

if you want add another one download the attached ones, remove ".pdf" and copy to ocpn folder in subfolder sounds.
after in User setting in sounds exchange the desired ones.

MOB.wav is conforming the ICS (International code of signals) as 3 long blast (Morse O)
SOS.wav is the standard Morse signal for such situation.

Re: OpenCPN General

P_Dub, try it again, sometimes satellite servers go down, and only occasionally does cloudsmith website have an issue. It is more likely that circleci website would have an issue, but it has been quite good for a long time. Also try clearing your web browser cache sometimes that helps.
