Here is a screenshot of the stripes in my openCPN Display. I use my very nice brandnew acer travelmate I B with windows 10, before I used a also small asus notebook for many years with windows 7 and it worked perfect. Now I wanted to have the brighter display of the new acer notebook.

I hope you can see the attachment

Re: OpenCPN General

Did you try to play with your screen resolution? Bring it down to around 1300 to 800-900 and recheck.

O-charts and oeSENC and oeRNC manuals

I've noticed that these plugin manuals really need an update otherwise users will get confused.

Also I noticed that the actual process has changed on this page

Randolph...
Sorry, we did not get the screenshot. Please try again.
Worst case is to take a manual photo of the screen.

Re: OpenCPN General

The o-chart_pi Manual is not in the typical location where Users would expect it
The MANUAL for the plugin is https://o-charts.org/manuals/?lng=en

We should probably have an o-chart manual in the repository, with at least a link to this website.

Re: OpenCPN General

Dave those stripes look like it could be opengl drivers again. Perhaps Randof should go to the View Opengl website and download and test his drivers?

Re: OpenCPN General

Randolf..
Your PC seems to use the Intel UHD graphics 600 that may have had some OpenGl trouble.
For further investigations it would help if you could extract the OpenGL reports from the OpenCPN log file:
Click the tool "About OpenCPN", the ?-icon, and follow the link to the opencpn.log.
From there copy your version of the same info as from my example below:
Code:
11:36:42.630 MESSAGE chcanv.cpp:2379 wxDisplaySize(): 2560 1440
11:36:42.911 MESSAGE glChartCanvas.cpp:1246 OpenGL-> Renderer String: Intel(R) HD Graphics 520
11:36:42.911 MESSAGE glChartCanvas.cpp:1255 OpenGL-> Version reported:  4.6.0 - Build 30.0.101.1340

Re: OpenCPN General

The other option is to download the ViewOpenGL software links I provided and run them to confirm OpenGL capabilities. He will probably need to update drivers. He could also get on Intel's site and run their opengl wizard which will also give him driver updates if needed.

Re: OpenCPN General

Hi!

I am installing OpenCPN v5.6.2 on an old laptop eeePC with Atom N270 CPU i686 32 bit.
Trying to install maps (Norway) bought from o-charts.org

OS: Ubuntu 18.04 LST i386/i686 (mini.iso)

OpenCPN is working fine and USB serial COM GPS device is also ok.

But no o-charts plugin available for this platform. Have also checked all the tarball files on hosting site (https://cloudsmith.io/~opencpn/repos...s/?q=tar+18.04 - not available)

So my question is:

Can someone build/make a 32-bit version of the o-charts package for Ubuntu 18.04 to be available for the OpenCPN plugin manager?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards
Kjell-Arvid Ådlandsvik

Re: OpenCPN General

Randolf: My boat mini-pc has the same Intel UHD 600 graphics chipset. W10, O5.6.2 and OpenGL enabled there are no display problems.
The Intel driver is version 30.0.101.1340 which is very recent if not the latest, installed automatically by Windows Update.

Re: OpenCPN General

The actual Android version is that one from Dave Register, our lead developer of OpenCPN:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....opencpn&hl=en
Supported, up-to-date, allows for plug-ins etc...
