Thanks for the response. I have an Apple Macbook Pro, not sure if it is designed for the Mac platform?

Re: OpenCPN for Azores

You have asked for charts, right?
Charts are independent of the OS but needs the software to use them.
CM93ed2 works with OpenCPN and OpenCPN is available for Mac OS X.

To my knowledge it is the file *.EXD which holds the date of the package.

Re: OpenCPN for Azores

Forgive my ignorance but are these cm92 charts free to download? I have only got OpenCPN as a redundancy system in case I lose my Raymarine or paper charts lol. ie: I don't want to pay for them haha.

I am waiting for the latest Navionics chart for the Azores and Western Europe that we have just bought to arrive ... and that is costing $350.00 plus shipping to here in Turks.

In the set I have, the .EXD file only contains the hexa 0A 0D chars.
I rely on the M_PROD / CPDATE (also earlier M_COVR / NMDATE) as found with Object Query

Re: OpenCPN for Azores

I have found this link for free downloads of the CM93 charts (January 2011 though) : Cm93 Januar 2011 (download torrent) - TPB

You will need a bit torrent program such as bitlord or Vuze, then click on the green "get this torrent" button (don't click on any other buttons).

I am working on a Macbook Pro so I believe that Unrarx is the program to use to unrar/unzip the charts once they have downloaded.

Hope this helps but remember these are not the latest charts.

The name of the *.EXD file is the secret. Each chart may have another date. So which name of the *.EXD file do you have? Mine is 20130501.EXD.

Same here
20130501.EXD
But as I have mentioned above, individual chartlets have a CPDATE (which I take to mean compilation date) dated not later than 2012 07 30 ...
