Sunrise/Sunset today 25 juillet
Correct GMT time:- 09 16 28 for sunrise
00 26 27 for sunset

OpenCpn Dashboard:- 08 30 00 LCL
17 06 00 LCL
Our Zone time is EST 5 hours on GMT
EDT 4 hours on GMT
Something looks wear to me?
On the other hand the time CPU clock is correct.
What is wrong?
Best Regards.

P_Dub,

Sunrise/sunset are computed based on the date and lat/long from the GPS NMEA input data. They are not computed from the CPU clock or the ship's position. So unless you have a GPS connected then the times of sunrise/sunset are probably not going to be right. It has always been thus.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.6.2 Waypoint symbols

A quick review of the new waypoint symbols and I have the following comments:

1. What is the first one, a circle followed by the figures '103'?

2. New useful symbols would be a 'Q' flag to denote a quarantine area and one for a yacht club.

3. A symbol is needed for the waypoint 'Boat - Marina'.

4. Superfluous or redundant waypoints:
- Activity - Diving Scuba Tank (Activity Diving -Scuba-Flag symbol covers this)
- Anchorage (Already listed as 1st Anchorage)
- Fuel (Already listed as Service - Fuel)
- Hazard - Dredging (A temporary situation that would be confusing when finished)
- Sand - (Already listed as SAND)
- SCUBA - (Activity Diving -Scuba-Flag symbol covers this)
- Symbol - Anchor 1,2,3 (Already listed as Anchor)
- Symbol - Diamoond (Already have a diamond and why so many colors?)
-
5. Questionable utility for the following waypoints (and meaning unclear):
- Sea Depth A with multiple colors
- Sea Depth B with multiple colors
- Sea Eddies with multiple colors
- Sea Height with multiple colors
- Other symbols with multiple colors.

6. The 'Weather' waypoints also denote temporary situations which are of doubtful utility.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.6.2

new icons for WP marks good! But why so many and so many colors under the colors of the rainbow !?
Colored duplicates are superfluous
You need to leave frequently used symbols. And add additional colorful toys to add usericons.

On the touch screen it is not convenient to scroll icons through the scrollbar. You need to add a scroll in the list of icons.

I don't see this one.

About colors: this will depend on the usage. Does not hurt neither to have them.

I asked for the depths as I'm using them to experiment with ad-hoc soundings.
Colors do give me then indications about ranges for example Red< 1.5m

Perhaps we should distinguish between application like travel guides for regions where you use the icons to depict or correct information. Charting.

Others will go for temporary information or ad-hoc information with a limited time of applicability.

Obviously there is room for user defined icons still, but on the other hand a good collection of OpenCPN standard icons helps, especially if you want to exchange information between users.

Reasoning about "temporary information" see above. The others who supplied icons might add their reasons here.

I already designed a couple more icons, including one's for "Quarantine area" and "Yacht club". Waiting for further comments and will then email final list to Dave - to be included in later OponCPN version.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.6.2

I also have usericons in the usericon Directory. Those usericons also show up in the list. But if we now have default icons in groups, maybe we should add the usericons to the list with a "usericon-" prefix.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.6.2

Bdbcat,
Re 1. Correct tide height graphic hang on Macintosh.

There is a user with OS Win 10 having troubles with Current and Tide Graphic, causing crashes on right click on the current or tide icon. I haven't got this problem on the same version of windows. He has reinstalled previous O versions and does not have the problem on those versions. We are trying to figure it out, reload mouse drivers, etc, but that does not seem to be the problem.

I can't get this to happen on my Win10 however. Any other Win 10 users out there with this problem?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.6.2

Dave, I just downloaded 4.6.2 and tide & curr popups are ok on my win10 machine, but they are not working on Chuck's. See https://opencpn.org/flyspray/index.p...s&task_id=2214 I am going to ask Chuck to reinstall his mouse drivers
